The NHL returns with a five-game slate on Friday night, with first puck drop at 7:00 p.m. ET. None of the teams playing today played last night, so there are no rest advantages to worry about.

Best NHL props for Friday 12/5/25
Jamie Benn 1+ Point (-110)
Since making his season debut on Nov. 18, Benn has notched eight points across his first nine outings. The 36-year-old has totaled at least one point in 6-of-9 games this season, while logging first-line minutes alongside the likes of Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz. Benn ranks first in the NHL in 5v5 points per 60, with all eight of his points coming at even strength. Tonight, he’ll face a Sharks team that ranks 25th in 5v5 goals against per 60, and the Stars have gone 12-2-3, while averaging 4.0 goals per game since the start of November.
Alex Tuch 1+ Point (-110)
Tuch plays on the third line for Buffalo, which isn’t necessarily ideal. However, the third line, comprised of Josh Doan, Noah Ostlund and Tuch, has been producing lately, making it difficult to fade him against a team the Sabres just beat 5-1 only a few days ago. The 29-year-old has notched a point in each of the past three outings and ranks sixth in the NHL in 5v5 points per 60. He also plays on the second power play line, which should further increase his chances of notching a point. Connor Hellebuyck’s last start was on Nov. 15, and since then, the Jets have allowed just over 0.5 more goals per game (2.78 to 3.33).
JJ Peterka 3+ Shots on Goal (+105)
Peterka has cleared this line in back-to-back games after failing to clear the mark in the previous three games. The former Sabre ranks second on his new club in goals and has netted three in the past two games. While he is rather inconsistent in the shots department, his recent scoring surge makes me think he will make it a priority to get the puck on net as often as possible. Tonight, Peterka will face the Canucks, who have allowed the seventh-most shots per game. Utah ranks fifth in 5v5 goals per 60, and Vancouver ranks 22nd in 5v5 goals against per 60. Guess which player ranks 11th in the NHL in 5v5 goals per 60? It is Peterka, and it turns out that in order to score goals, you must shoot the puck.
