For this bet to hit, we need West Ham to win the game. If it ends in a tie, the bet will void. I am taking the Hammers in this one because I don’t see any value in taking Man United. West Ham are much improved since the takeover of Nuno Espírito Santo as manager, only losing one of their last four Premier League games at the hands of the defending champions Liverpool.
On the other hand, Man United are coming off a big bounce-back performance as they beat Crystal Palace in their last match. The Red Devils needed that one badly as they had failed to win each of their previous three Premier League games. Despite their recent win, I don’t exactly trust them to get two in a row in this one.
West Ham have surprisingly had a ton of success against Man United recently, and between that and their current form under their new boss, I believe they have enough to get a result in this one. The Hammers have won three of the four Premier League games between these sides in the last two seasons, including a 2-0 win at Old Trafford in May.
Man United are a very good team on their day, but they are too inconsistent for me to trust them to win at -215 odds. I’d rather take a shot with the Hammers at +400 to do exactly what they did the last time they played at this stadium.
