Zion Williamson Injury Update: Out At Least Three Weeks

Zion Williamson was questionable to play in Tuesday’s game between the Pelicans and the Timberwolves, but the forward has been ruled out for the contest and will miss at least three weeks with a right adductor injury, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

This is brutal news for Williamson and the Pelicans, as he has only played in 10 games this season due to various injuries. In those contests, Williamson is averaging 22.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 51% from the field.

Since being drafted No. 1 by New Orleans in 2019 as one of the most highly touted prospects of all time, Williamson has missed a jaw dropping 56% of his potential games during his six-year career.

Williamson is leading the Pelicans with a 29.8% usage rate this season and with him sidelined, Trey Murphy III ($7,300), Jeremiah Fears ($6,000) and Saddiq Bey ($6,600) will all see increased usage rates for New Orleans.

The Pelicans are 2-9 with Williamson sidelined this season and this 3-18 team is likely to continue to struggle for the foreseeable future. Hosting the Timberwolves on Tuesday, New Orleans is a 12.5-point underdog for this matchup on DraftKings Sportsbook.
