A five-game featured NBA DFS slate is on tap for Tuesday. For fantasy basketball managers, there’s certainly no lack of star power. Names such as Tyrese Maxey, Jalen Brunson and Anthony Edwards will all take the floor.
Still, a winning fantasy basketball lineup requires a few savvy pickups. Which lesser known players are poised for success this evening? Here are three to target in DFS and season-long formats.

PF/C Dominick Barlow, Philadelphia 76ers vs. WAS ($4,800)
Joel Embiid (knee) is out once again tonight, while a slew of other 76ers big men are questionable to play. Fortunately for Philadelphia, Dominick Barlow has done a stellar job with more minutes as of late. Over his last five outings, the fourth-year pro is averaging 8.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 blocks. Most recently, he logged a season-high 45 minutes during a double-overtime loss vs. the Hawks. That level of trust from head coach Nick Nurse should only continue to grow.
Tuesday presents the perfect opportunity for Barlow to produce a gaudy stat line. The Wizards are allowing the most fantasy points to power forwards this season. In addition, Washington has surrendered the most points (127.6) and third-most rebounds (58.3) per game to opponents. That level of ineptitude is almost impossible to ignore. Given their injuries, there’s less risk of a 76ers blowout in this one as well. Keeping that in mind, Barlow is set up nicely for a standout performance.
SF/PF Sam Hauser, Boston Celtics vs. NYK ($4,000)
If there’s one thing the Celtics will always prioritize, its shooting three-pointers. Boston is attempting 43.0 shots per game from beyond the arc, third-most in basketball this season. The C’s wield a roster filled with chuckers, including Sam Hauser. Through 20 games, the Virginia alum has posted 7.0 points on 35/34/75 shooting splits. Those numbers are disappointing for the veteran, a career 41% shooter from beyond the arc.
Tonight’s contest could be the perfect chance for Hauser to get back on track. The Knicks have struggled to guard the perimeter, and are without their best defender in OG Anunoby (hamstring). Opponents are knocking down 15.0 three-pointers per game vs. New York, third-most in the NBA. When these two teams last met on October 24th, Hauser accounted for 18 points, all via six three-pointers made (28.2 FPTS). At such a low price, Boston’s sharpshooter is an ideal selection to round out your lineups.
C Mitchell Robinson, New York Knicks at BOS ($3,500)
We’ll stay in Beantown, where the Knicks hope to pick up their fifth straight win. To beat the Celtics, New York will need to utilize its size advantage. That means plenty of work for All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,600). Still, KAT isn’t the only big man worth mentioning on this roster. Mitchell Robinson, when healthy, is a true difference maker. The center’s contributions on defense and as a rebounder are invaluable. Still, given his health, head coach Mike Brown has kept Robinson on a minutes restriction.
Despite his limited usage, Mitch is averaging 8.4 rebounds in just over 17 minutes per game. That should come in handy against a C’s squad giving up the fifth-most rebounds per game to opponents (55.9). Robinson has managed to snag 8+ rebounds in eight of his 12 appearances this season. That includes his most recent game, a 15-board performance vs. Toronto (20.8 FPTS). Given his dirt-cheap $3,500 salary, even 20+ fantasy points would make Robinson a steal for fantasy basketball managers.
