DraftKings NBA Pick6 Fantasy Basketball Picks Today: Top Picks for December 1

Published:

By: Bill Yin

We’re officially stepping into some December ball on this fine post-Thanksgiving Monday with a nine game slate, tipping off at 7 PM EST with the Hawks visiting the Pistons and concluding with a 10 PM EST Western Conference showdown between the Suns and the Lakers, where LeBron James will presumably return to the fold.

Things haven’t changed much in the landscape; the Wizards and the Pelicans are both 1-9 in their last ten games and seem doomed to scrape the bottom of the barrel this season. The Thunder are the only team that’s 10-0 in their last 10 games and look comfortably paced to claim the first seed once again. Let’s dive into Pick6.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the action this evening. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this year is Pick6 Fantasy Basketball!

This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for tonight’s slate. We simply choose whether a player will record more or less of the set statistic. Here are my favorite plays for tonight’s action.

Giannis Antetokounmpo More than 30.5 Points

Just yesterday Antetokounmpo expressed his desire to climb up the all-time points scored rankings in the NBA, and while he may never reach the top at his current pace, tonight’s matchup against the feeble Wizards’ defense will be a nice little boost towards his goal. The Wizards are dead last in defensive rating and also dead last in opponent points in the paint; both data points bode poorly for the Wizards’ outlook in containing the Greek Freak tonight. All signs point towards Giannis imposing his will at or around the rim with little resistance, and this 30.5 mark is too low for Giannis tonight in Capital One Arena.

Luka Doncic More Than 32.5 Points

The Suns have been a pleasant surprise this season, staying afloat even without their starting shooting guard Jalen Green. Their defense has also held up respectably thus far, boasting an above-average rate of 14th in the NBA. But 14th is not enough to deter superstar Luka Doncic, fresh off a 34 point, 12 rebound, seven assist beatdown over the New Orleans Pelicans last night.

Doncic will look to continue his scoring spree tonight on the second half of a back to back. He’s on MVP trajectory once again with 35.1 PPG, leading the entire league in scoring. I don’t expect his pace to drop anytime soon; he’s going to continue pouring on the offense for the Lakers and this should be no different tonight.

Kawhi Leonard More Than 22.5 Points

To the surprise of many, Kawhi Leonard appeared in a back to back set last week, the first since April 5th and 6th last season. This is a good sign for Leonard, whose Clippers are drowning as the 13th seed with a 5-15 record. They’ll need both Leonard and James Harden to be at their best this season for a fighting chance, and they’ve been delivering.

Leonard hit the 30 point mark in both halves of the back to back set he played last week and has been excellent this season when he suits up with 25.4 PPG, the highest mark since 2019-2020. The Clippers’ record doesn’t reflect Leonard and Harden’s success in turning back the clock, but we can expect this production to continue.

It’ll be a tough matchup tonight against the third ranked Heat defense, but Leonard is averaging 25.4 PPG, with a league-high 98% FT while shooting 51.1% FG. It seems prudent to trust Leonard again in this spot in which he’ll need to continue elevating to pull the Clippers out of deep water.
