As a great weekend of sports comes to an end, the NBA squeezes in a couple more fun matchups into the late window. At 9:00 p.m. ET, the Sacramento Kings host the Memphis Grizzlies at the Golden 1 Center. Both teams are under .500 but looking to find their footing after multiple early season injuries have set them back. Both teams offer interesting stars and role players who are regularly involved. Each team provides plenty of options to consider for some good player prop bets to close out the evening.
In the bigger picture, on DraftKings Sportsbook, the Grizzlies are 2.5-point road favorites, with the game total set at O/U 232.5 points.
The Grizzlies have won four of their last five games, defeating the Pelicans and Clippers to start their current road trip. They started that run with a dominant home win over the Kings, who they defeated by 41 points on Nov. 20. That loss was the Kings’ eighth straight defeat at that point but the Kings have gone 2-2 in their four games since then.
Let’s dive in and find a few player prop bets that look like juicy spots to attack for Sunday night.
Kings vs. Grizzlies Best Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Keegan Murray over 17.5 points (-108)
Murray made his season debut against the Grizzlies in the first matchup between these two teams, and he only had 11 points in 33 minutes in that matchup. He’s worked his way back to more minutes and more scoring since then, and he has gone over this scoring line in each of his four games since that debut.
In his five games, he’s averaging 19.6 points per game, and he’s coming off a 23-point, 10-rebound game on Friday against the Jazz.
Murray’s return has helped the Kings get back to better results in their last few games, and he should continue to carry more of the offense with Domantas Sabonis (knee) still out.
Vince Williams Jr. 23+ Points + Rebounds + Assists (-116)
While the Grizzlies are without Ja Morant (calf), Ty Jerome (calf) and Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe), Williams has been playing more point guard for the Grizzlies, and he has been very productive in that role.
In his 15 games this season, Williams has averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists for an average of 18.8 PRA (points, rebounds and assists). In his last six games, though, he’s moved into the starting lineup and is averaging 9.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 9.8 assists for 24.7 PRA over that stretch.
Against the Kings in their last meeting, Williams handed out 15 assists while adding five rebounds and four points to go over this prop line. He has been over this prop line in four of his last six games, and he should be in a smash spot against the Kings’ backcourt.
Of the three player props in this post, this is my favorite to play as a ladder play as well, since I think you can take Williams for 25 PRA (+127) and 30 PRA (+323) if you want to be more aggressive with a longer shot play in this contest.
Russell Westbrook over 1.5 3PM (-127)
Throughout this season, Westbrook has been turning back the clock for the Kings, and he’s put together some outstanding, turn-back-the-clock triple-doubles, like he did on Friday against the Jazz. He finished that game with 16 points, 12 rebounds, 14 assists and four steals in 33 minutes.
He hit two three-pointers as part of that performance and has hit multiple threes in two straight games, four of his last five, and six of his last eight.
With Dennis Schroder (hip) questionable after missing the last two games, Westbrook could lose a little bit of usage. Since I feel like his PRA and his other totals have been moved up by his recent surge, I’ll go with his longer-term form and take him to hit multiple threes in this contest.
He continues to deliver on this prop in a variety of scenarios. For example, he hit a pair of three-pointers in the first meeting between these teams, even though he only played 21 minutes and had 11 points. If Schroder doesn’t return, he will again have heavy usage and should hit multiple threes, but if Schroder does return, Westbrook should still get enough chances to deliver on this prop as well.
