He’s facing a Niners team that is trying to rally for a playoff run. At 8-4, they’re in the thick of the NFC Wild Card race while having a chance at capturing the division. Getting Brock Purdy back in the lineup has been crucial, and they survived him shaking off the rust against the Panthers.
But it’s not about the quarterbacks on Sunday. Temperatures will be near freezing while the snow pours in. It’s on the running backs to produce in a battle of the trenches. So, who will prevail in the snow bowl?
Browns vs. 49ers Prediction, Pick
A few things are working in Cleveland’s favor. One, it has Quinshon Judkins, a great back to place the offensive burden on. Two, Sanders presents a decent enough running threat to open up the playbook. And third, this 49ers offense is not suited for the cold. Christian McCaffrey has not been the explosive back we’re used to, and Purdy has historically struggled in the snow. It’s enough reason to think the Browns can cover this meager spread in what should be a low-scoring affair.
