Hawaii Rainbow Warriors vs. Wyoming Cowboys prediction, pick for CFB Week 14 on Saturday 11/29/25

Valley Trophy night sets up like a stat trap for San Jose State’s offense. The Spartans look explosive on paper at 418.8 yards per game and 298.5 through the air, but the scoreboard keeps telling a different story. They are sitting at only 22.1 points per game with a -11 turnover margin, and now they hand the keys to a freshman quarterback against one of the best pass defenses in the conference. With the team total parked at 21.5, I want to bet that disconnect, not chase their yardage. Below is my prediction for CFB Week 14’s football game between the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and the Wyoming Cowboys.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Hawaii vs. Wyoming prediction, preview

The basics are ugly. Wyoming averages 320 yards per game on 4.95 yards per play, with 181.3 passing and 138.7 rushing. That yardage turning into only 16.8 points means they are burning almost 19 yards per point, a clear sign of stalled drives and field goals instead of touchdowns. They convert only 35.1% on third down and carry a -3 turnover margin with Kaden Anderson sitting at 1,948 passing yards, 56.2% completions, 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. That 16.8 points per game ranks seventh-worst in the FBS, and now they face a Hawaii defense that is perfectly average at 25.0 points allowed, not some pushover unit that inflates numbers. This is a low-ceiling, mistake-prone attack, not a group waiting to explode into the 20s.

Even their best pieces point toward the under. Samuel Harris has 552 rushing yards and 5.5 yards per carry but only 1 rushing touchdown, textbook between-the-20s production without payoff near the goal line. Chris Durr Jr. leads the receivers with 46 catches, 513 yards and 4 scores, good chain-moving numbers but not a true one-play touchdown profile. Wyoming is built to grind clock, shorten games and hope the defense wins, as you see in a unit allowing only 19.9 points per game. That identity keeps possessions and variance down and makes it even harder for this offense to clear 17.5 without multiple extended, out-of-character scoring drives.

Wyoming vs. Hawaii pick, best bet

Hawaii does not need an elite defense to hold this under. The Rainbow Warriors allow 25.0 points and 359.9 yards per game, with 219.5 passing and 140.5 rushing. That is essentially an average FBS defense. But average is plenty against an offense that ranks among the seven worst nationally in scoring and already struggles to convert yards into points. Hawaii’s offense, meanwhile, sustains drives at a 45.5% third-down rate behind Micah Alejado’s 2,543 passing yards and 65.6% completions. When Hawaii stays on the field and plays from ahead as a seven-point favorite, Wyoming’s possession count shrinks and every empty drive hurts more.

The spot also favors a conservative Wyoming script. This is the first year under Jay Sawvel, with a defense allowing only 19.9 points and 337.6 yards per game, including 165.2 passing yards allowed. Wyoming’s best chance to hang around is leaning on that defense and Harris’ ground work, not asking Anderson to throw them into a shootout in Honolulu. That approach bleeds clock and protects the defense but also keeps scoring capped. To get over 17.5, the Cowboys probably need three full touchdown drives or two touchdowns plus multiple clean field-goal possessions. Their season-long profile says one touchdown and a couple of field goals is more realistic.

The number is not far from the average, but the context nudges things lower. Wyoming’s 16.8 points per game includes early wins over Akron, Northern Iowa and Colorado State. Now they face a competent, motivated Hawaii on Senior Night in a tricky road environment, with the same inefficient third-down and red-zone tendencies intact.

I expect the Cowboys to compete defensively, move the ball in spots and still stall often enough to stay stuck in the 10-to-17 range.

Best bet: Wyoming TT u17.5 total points (-110) at Hawaii
