Holiday hoops are on the horizon as another juicy Sunday slate of NBA basketball is in store for fans. It’s time for weekly DFS picks. I’ll give you a stud and value play for each position to create your ideal lineup.
For Sunday, Nov. 30, we will be using the NBA $120K Fadeaway [$30K to 1st] DFS pool. Now, let’s dig into the picks!
Point Guard
Stud: Tyrese Maxey (PHI), $9,900
Although Maxey has cooled off a bit from his scorching hot start, he’s still an excellent play. He has 60+ FPTS upside with an average of 54.3 and high of 86.2. The best thing is that he’s bound to play a lot of minutes unlike Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the top point guard on the slate, and is $1,000 cheaper than the reigning MVP.
Value: Ajay Mitchell (OKC), $5,900
The Thunder churn out quality role players in their sleep. Mitchell is one of the top players in their rotation and would start on a number of teams today; instead, he’s competing for an NBA championship. Aside from last game in which he got hurt after five minutes, Mitchell is finishing with 20-30 FPTS per night, averaging 28.4 for the season.
Shooting Guard
Stud: Anthony Edwards (MIN), $9,200
I considered Brandon Ingram here as a less expensive stud, but who am I kidding? Edwards is the best option even at his price. The Timberwolves star scored 39 points in 37 minutes against the Celtics on Saturday. That’s his fourth straight 30-point game, with two of those performances over 40 points. This is a remarkable scoring run, and he adds some goodies in other fantasy categories, too.
Value: Julian Champagnie (SAS), $5,500
The Spurs are still without Victor Wembanyama, but the supporting cast is stepping up and is 5-1 since his injury. De’Aaron Fox has been the main option, but Champagnie is sneakily a great value pick. He’s finished four straight games with 30+ FPTS with a high of 49.5.
Small Forward
Stud: Mikal Bridges (NYK), $7,100
Maybe I’m a biased New York fan, but Bridges is a steal at $7,100. He’s not providing the elite scoring that others are, but he does just about everything else well, especially on defense. Bridges has at least one block in seven straight games, at least two steals in nine straight and at least two assists in every game this season. With other top players being expensive to play in DFS, Bridges is a perfect player to get great production at the fraction of the cost.
Value: Aaron Wiggins (OKC), $5,600
Wiggins has been sidelined for a handful of games, but is expected to return against the Trail Blazers. Prior to the injury, he was an integral part of the Thunder’s rotation. He should have a similar role in his return, and will likely play a good chunk of minutes with a blowout likely.
Power Forward
Stud: Jalen Johnson (ATL), $10,100
This is a steep price, but it’s worth it considering how well Johnson has played this season. He posted 70.5 FPTS on Friday and has a high of 92 this season. It’s not just random spurts either; Johnson is consistently over the 50 FPTS mark and is the offensive hub with Trae Young out.
Value: Naz Reid (MIN), $5,700
Reid has been consistent for the Timberwolves, which is why I like him for a value play. He’s probably not going to go off for 50+ FPTS, but he’ll give you at least 20 with 30-40 upside.
Center
Stud: Karl-Anthony Towns (NYK), $9,500
After last game’s dud, there’s not a ton of confidence for Towns heading into this matchup, but he is still an elite player and the only stud center available. His last two games of 29 and 36 FPTS leave a lot to be desired, but he’s capable of 50+ on any given night. He’s a great rebounder, so even if he doesn’t score a ton, he’s going to give some value in your DFS lineups.
Value: Neemias Queta (BOS), $5,100
Queta isn’t the most consistent value player out there, but he’s intriguing. He posted 19 points and 18 rebounds on Saturday and is averaging 26.8 FPTS per game this season. The center position is incredibly weak for this slate, making Queta a terrific option in your lineups.
