Black Friday is always a great day to get some good deals and this Friday, the NFL jumps in on the action by delivering a nice NFC matchup between the Bears and the Eagles. I previewed the game from a DFS Showdown perspective, and it should be a great potential playoff preview since both teams enter the week on top of their division. The Bears have been getting lots of close, late wins, and the Eagles haven’t been overwhelming people lately, so we should get a gritty, hard-fought game. The point total is 44.5, with the Eagles as seven-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. With that point total and the Eagles strong defense, we’ll have to be careful about taking too many overs.
Let’s break down tonight’s action on the gridiron and explore some options for a same game parlay on DraftKings Sportsbook this Friday.
Bears vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay
- Tank Bigsby 15+ Rushing Yards
- DeVonta Smith over 53.5 Receiving Yards
- Luther Burden 3+ Receptions
- DJ Moore 3+ Receptions
Tank Bigsby 15+ Rushing Yards
Bigsby has been the Eagles second running back since joining the team via trade from the Jaguars early in the season. He has played 10 games for the Eagles, taking 18 carries for 164 yards, averaging 9.1 yards per carry. Most of his work has come as a kick returner, but there have been increasing cries for him to get more work since his 9.1 yards-per-carry average stands out, and he’s had a few sizzle plays when stepping into more work.
Last week, he only had one carry for eight yards against the Cowboys. He had at least three carries in each of the three previous weeks, averaging 51.7 yards per game in those three contests and going over his modest rushing total in two of those contests.
Saquon Barkley has been struggling to find space, and if that continues Bigsby could get a little more work this week. If Barkley breaks out and has big gains, Bigsby could get some work to help him recover as well. Either way, he has a chance to get to at least 15 yards.
The Bears have been a great matchup for running backs, specifically second backs. They gave up 92 rushing yards to Kenneth Gainwell, 45 rushing yards to Jordan Mason, and 20 yards to Devin Singletary in the last three weeks and also gave up 43 yards to Keaton Mitchell in Week 8 against the Ravens.
If Bigsby gets a few carries, whether as a break for a productive Barkley or an alternative to a struggling Barkley, I think he has a good shot at getting at least 15 rushing yards.
DeVonta Smith over 53.5 Receiving Yards
While A.J. Brown has been the squeaky wheel and gotten some extra attention, Smith has been a consistent playmaker for the Eagles for most of the season. He’s averaging 68.5 receiving yards per game and has gone over this prop line in four of his last five games, with the only down game being against the Lions in Week 11.
Smith had six catches for 89 yards against the Cowboys last week and was targeted 11 times. He has at least nine targets in four of his last seven weeks, and the Bears have been a good matchup for receivers this season, allowing an average of 10.4 catches for 147.4 receiving yards per game to the position. There should be enough space for Smith to get over this prop line even if Brown remains involved.
Luther Burden III 3+ receptions
The Bears have moved Burden to their third receiver spot in the last few games ahead of Olamide Zaccheaus. He has exactly three catches in each of his three games since returning from a one-game absence with a concussion.
While his number of catches and yards has been fairly consistent in those three games, he has seen his targets go from three to five to five, while his snap share climbed past Zaccheaus.
He’s a big-play threat and the Bears have been working to get him more involved. For this prop, the effort to get him involved is all we need to continue, and I’m more comfortable backing that than picking his yardage total to go over since the Eagles defense has prevented those big plays for the most part. Last week, though, the Cowboys had some big plays in the second half, and I expect the Bears to try to attack those same spots with Burden and the player in the last part of my Friday SGP.
D.J. Moore 3+ receptions
Burden’s odds have actually climbed past Moore’s to get 3+ receptions, even though Moore is still clearly the No. 2 receiver on the team. He had five catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Steelers and is averaging 3.3 catches on 5.3 targets per game on the season.
Moore has at least three catches in nine of his 11 games (82%) and seemed to be back in his usual role last week after a few down games.
Since the Bears may have to throw more on Friday if playing from behind, I think both Burden and Moore can get to three receptions, whether the yards are there or not against Philly.
