Ryan Rollins 3+ three-pointers made (-104)
Milwaukee-New York pits two squads that love jacking up shots from deep. Both teams are averaging 15.4 three-pointers made per game, tied for the third-most in basketball. It helps that the two clubs have major issues guarding the perimeter. That’s been amplified in recent weeks for the Knicks as OG Anunoby nurses a hamstring strain. With Antetokounmpo back from his injury, the Bucks should take full advantage on offense. Giannis’s ability to draw multiple defenders typically gives his teammates more wide-open shots.
A lack of reliable ball-handlers has been well-documented for the Bucks. However, Ryan Rollins has emerged as a reliable back court contributor. Through 19 games this season, the 23-year-old is averaging 18.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists while shooting 49% from the field. From beyond the arc, he’s connecting on over 40% of his three-point attempts. During seven of his previous 11 appearances, Rollins has knocked down at least three treys. When these two squads met on October 28th, the Toldeo alum also drained four more long balls. Keeping that in mind, Milwaukee’s hidden weapon offers value tonight.
Andre Drummond 13+ rebounds (-126)
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Joel Embiid is out tonight with a knee injury. He’ll be joined on the bench by fellow big men Adem Bona (ankle) and Trendon Watford (adductor). That’s a ton of size that won’t be at Philadelphia’s disposal vs. the Nets. Fortunately for the Sixers, Andre Drummond is available. The former All-Star turned role player is still impactful when given the opportunity. That’s especially true on the glass; Drummond has snagged at least 12 rebounds in four of his last five outings.
It helps that the 76ers will take on a Brooklyn team that struggles to do almost anything right. That includes boxing out; opponents are averaging 56.2 rebounds per game vs. the Nets, the NBA’s eighth-worst mark. When these clubs met on November 2nd, Drummond snagged eight boards in just over 23 minutes. Watford and Bona both suited up during that game, which won’t be the case on Friday. Given the lack of internal and external competition, Drummond should enjoy another terrific rebounding performance.
Jalen Williams 14+ points (-118)
The defending champion Thunder were already a force to be reckoned with last season. An 18-1 start this year suggests that Oklahoma City has somehow improved. Making that record even more impressive is the fact that Jalen Williams hasn’t even played yet. The All-Star has been held out over a month as he recovers from right wrist surgery. Now, he’ll give OKC an added boost on both ends of the floor. Last season, the wing posted 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game to go with 48/37/79 shooting splits.
Tonight, the Thunder will take on a surprisingly scrappy Phoenix defense. That could make things difficult for J-Dub, who will likely operate under a minutes restriction. Still, this isn’t the most intimidating number for bettors. As previously mentioned, Williams averaged close to 22 points per game last season. He’s delivered at least 14 points in five of his previous six matchups with the Suns. Could that continue tonight, in his first game back? At a total of just 14 points, I’m more than willing to take a chance on Williams.
