There isn’t much between these teams at the moment. Both sides are in great form in their domestic leagues and in this competition. Both teams have a perfect four out of four win record in the Champions League and as I mentioned before, lead their domestic league tables with a six-point cushion.
Arsenal have the slight advantage in my book because they are at home, a stadium that they have not lost in this season in any competition. Arsenal have an incredible record under Mikel Arteta in the group/league phase of the Champions League at the Emirates. In nine games, they have scored 26 goals and haven’t conceded. Arsenal are hard to score against no matter what competition or stadium, but particularly so when it’s the league phase of the Champions League at the Emirates.
In this season’s competition, the Gunners have played four games, scored 11 times and conceded none. In the Premier League they have also been dominant, winning nine of 12 games while scoring 24 and allowing six goals.
On the flip side, Bayern Munich have scored 14 times in four games in this season’s UCL. In the Bundesliga, they have scored a mind-boggling 41 goals in 11 games. They’ve won 10 of their 11 games and drawn one. Going invincible is very much in play given their current form.
This match is truly a case of an unstoppable force vs an immovable object. I’m going with Arsenal in this one due to their home Champions League record and the fact that they are coming off maybe their best performance of the season on Sunday as they thrashed Tottenham 4-1. Buckle up, because this game should be a thriller of the highest magnitude.
