Alabama Crimson Tide vs. UNLV Runnin’ Rebels prediction, pick for NCAAM on Tuesday 11/25/25

Alabama’s second night in Vegas feels like a character check. They just ran with Gonzaga for thirty minutes, then got buried under a wave of glass and paint touches. UNLV is turning right back around too, but the pressure is different. The Rebels let a winnable Maryland game slip after halftime and now get a top-ten logo on their own Strip. Both teams know this is the last statement before Thanksgiving travel and buy games. The only question is whether Alabama shows up angry or exhausted. Below is my preview, prediction, and pick for tonight’s college basketball game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Alabama vs. UNLV prediction, preview

Alabama’s profile is loud and unchanged. They’re living around 89.8 points per game, with Philon and Holloway pulling this thing into track-meet shape. Against Gonzaga they shot 46.3% from the field and 31.0% from three, which is basically on brand. The problem was everything around the initial shot. They lost the rebounding battle 48–36 and surrendered 20 offensive boards. They allowed 52 paint points to a team that hit only 27.3% from three. That stacks on top of earlier games where Purdue and Illinois shoved them under the rim. The guards will still create looks and stack pace. But second night in a row, with Wrightsell still out and the frontcourt asked to survive again, the floor on their defense feels shaky.

UNLV is the inverse kind of mess. The Rebels entered Maryland averaging 93.2 points on 49.5% shooting, then walked out with 67 on 36.7%. Their offense finally froze, but you could see why we liked them. They forced 20 turnovers and turned those into 25 points. They still generated 27 first-half points despite clanking open shots. The problem flipped from “can they guard anyone” to “can they finish enough of the looks their guards create.” They also, uncharacteristically, lost the glass 46–34, letting Maryland grab 16 offensive rebounds. That’s fixable effort and positioning, not a structural impossibility, especially against an Alabama team that just got mauled in the same building.

UNLV vs. Alabama pick, best bet

The Alabama blowout case is obvious, even if they’re smoked from fatigue. If the Tide’s threes finally spike, this can get sideways fast. You can absolutely draw a script where Philon hangs another efficiency game, Holloway layers in five or six threes, and Sherrell plus the wings do just enough on the glass to keep UNLV from living on second chances. On tired legs, UNLV’s already-shaky defense could start gifting straight-line drives and fouls. That’s how 13.5 evaporates by the under-eight timeout. You also have to allow for the talent gap: Alabama just went toe-to-toe with a top-five Gonzaga, while UNLV couldn’t close a Maryland team we were willing to fade. If Alabama is even neutral on the boards and keeps turnovers around the low teens, their shot volume and shot quality can absolutely justify this number.

I still want the dog. The number has drifted into a zone where Alabama needs several things to go right at once: hot perimeter shooting, some measure of rebounding competence, and a defensive effort that hasn’t really shown up against high-major guards yet. UNLV doesn’t need perfection. They just need to look more like the team that hung 90s on Memphis and Saint Joe’s and less like the group that bricked its way through Maryland’s second half. Their guard pressure is real, their scoring is distributed, and their home-adjacent environment matters on a second night when legs are rubber. Even if Alabama controls the game, back-door and variance paths exist all over a spread this big.

The total is stretched too. Everything about these teams screams pace, but 181.5 assumes almost no slippage in efficiency on tired legs. Alabama’s Gonzaga game cleared that kind of range with help from late whistles and offensive boards; UNLV’s Maryland game landed comfortably under. I expect tempo to be high but shot-making to wobble enough times—especially from a UNLV team coming off a clunker—that we land south of that number more often than not.

Call it something like Alabama 92, UNLV 80—Tide in control, Rebels inside the number, total landing short of the market’s fireworks.

Best bet: UNLV +13.5 (-110) vs. Alabama
