In a strange reversal of fortunes, the Indianapolis Colts are trying to maintain control over the AFC while the Kansas City Chiefs fight for their playoff lives. It’s a great battle between contenders that promises a lot of excellent performances. That makes the player prop market awfully compelling.
Kansas City is a 3.5-point favorite with -185 moneyline odds, while Indianapolis is listed as a +154 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at just 50.5 points — one of the highest on the board on Sunday. Here are my favorite player props for this Week 12 matchup between the Chiefs and Colts.
Chiefs vs. Colts Best Prop Bets
Jonathan Taylor 100+ Rushing Yards
It’s hard to imagine any team stopping Jonathan Taylor right now. Kansas City has some great run defenders, including Chris Jones, and a strong set of linebackers. It’s as good a formula as any. But I do believe he’s destined to reach the century mark once again. A huge performance against the Chiefs brings him closer to the elusive RB MVP award.
Daniel Jones 15+ Rushing Yards
Taylor isn’t the only Colt that should find success on the ground. Daniel Jones has put together some good performances with his legs this season, and is poised for success against the Chiefs, primarily due to the pass rush.
Kansas City can get after it, but that mostly comes up the middle. Pass rush up the middle pushes Jones to the outside of the pocket, where I expect him to have a couple of scrambles. It’s not much of a line; one good gap would cash this line.
Xavier Worthy Under 40.5 Receiving Yards
It’s hard to place much trust in Xavier Worthy right now. His game is predicated on east-west speed to break the defense on drag routes and screens. So far, teams are realizing he isn’t a downfield threat and are comfortable pressing up against him and dare him to win vertically. He’s not capitalizing right now.
Patrick Mahomes will look to more versatile receivers like Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce down the field, while Worthy works on gadget routes. Until we see otherwise, I’m not expecting much upside from Worthy.
