12:26 a.m. ET: Swerve Strickland is back!
After the match, the lights went out, and former AEW Champion Swerve Strickland came out. Strickland has been out for the last two months while recovering from a torn meniscus. Strickland took out members of The Opps dojo. At the end of Full Gear, former rivals Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland were standing side by side.
12:21 a.m. ET: Samoa Joe is the new AEW Champion!
Samoa Joe beat Hangman Adam Page to become the new AEW World Champion. Joe joins Jon Moxley, Page, and CM Punk as the only wrestlers to become a multi-time AEW Champion.
Page and Joe have been in a heated rivalry, and they began to inflict pain on each other as soon as the bell rang. Joe was gushing blood a few minutes into the match. We have seen a more aggressive side to Hangman in this match after Joe’s recent actions. Joe got up and immediately busted Page open.
Both wrestlers thrived in this type of match, enduring severe pain while still getting back to their feet. Katsuyori Shibata tried to interfere, but Eddie Kingston took him out. Page had Joe beat, but the referee was unresponsive. Another member of the Opps, Powerhouse Hobbs, then entered the cage.
Hook appeared and hit the page with the championship, and rejoined the Opps. This led to Samoa Joe hitting Page with a Muscle Buster onto the title to pick up the pinfall victory.
11:56 p.m. ET: Kris Statlander defeats Mercedes Mone
Kris Statlander successfully defended her title against the TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone. This is Statlander’s first career victory against Mone in a singles competition. This is Statlander’s third title defense since she won it at All Out.
Statlander had the power advantage in this match, while Mone’s edge was in speed. A few minutes into the match, Statlander appeared to injure her forearm. Mone targeted Statlander’s injured arm while the champion was in a ton of pain.
In the first half of the match, Mone was strictly on offense as Statlander couldn’t gain momentum. Statlaner began hurting Mone, but was struggling since she has limited ability in her left arm. Even though Statlander wasn’t at her best, she showed why she is the champion with her never-give-up mentality.

11:23 p.m. ET: The Young Bucks & Josh Alexander defeat Kenny Omega, Jack Perry, & Luchasaurus
The Young Bucks picked up the victory for their team and were the difference in this match. They beat Jurassic Express and Kenny Omega in this contest.
Kenny Omega got off to a hot start in this match. Josh Alexander has excelled recently, and it continued in this contest. Omega started moving slowly after it seemed he had messed up his knee.
Both teams went back and forth, taking each other’s best shot. Even though a title wasn’t on the line in this match, the stakes were very high since $1 million was up for grabs. Since both teams know each other very well, it was a close, competitive contest.
After the match, The Don Callis Family beat down Omega, but The Young Bucks came to their former friend’s aid. This was a great moment seeing The Young Bucks shake hands with Jurassic Express and reunite with Omega.

10:53 p.m. ET: Mark Briscoe defeats Kyle Fletcher to win the TNT title!
Mark Briscoe hit Kyle Fletcher with a Jay Driller to win the TNT Championship, his first title in AEW. This was a grueling match from start to finish. Briscoe beat Fletcher for the first time in a singles match since December 12, 2024.
Briscoe took the action outside the ring, throwing Fletcher into the steel stairs and hitting him with a chair at the beginning of the match.
Fletcher vs. Briscoe has been one of the best rivalries in professional wrestling this year. Briscoe has a tough, hard-hitting style, while Fletcher excels with his in-ring wrestling skills.
Don Callis distracted Broscoe, allowing Fletcher to gain the upper hand. Fletcher put Briscoe through two tables, but Briscoe kept kicking out. Briscoe took things to the next level when he hit Fletcher with a neckbreaker through multiple chairs. Fletcher got back in control when he hit Briscoe with a screwdriver.
Both competitors inflicted a tremendous amount of pain on each other. This was their fifth one-on-one match in AEW, with each living up to previous expectations.

10:19 p.m. ET: Kyle O’Reilly defeats Jon Moxley!
After a fantastic back-and-forth match, Kyle O’Reilly beat Jon Moxley again. O’Reilly is now 2-1 against Moxley in singles competition.
Moxley and O’Reilly have had an excellent feud over the last few weeks. In this contest, Moxley used his hard-hitting style against O’Reilly, who is an elite technical wrestler.
It didn’t take long for Moxley to bring out a fork, which he uses often. O’Reilly began to bleed after Moxley dragged the fork all over his body.
O’Reilly showed his warrior mentality as he got back to his feet and got his own offense on Moxley. He got payback on Moxley, forcing him to bleed as well. Moxley then started to target O’Reilly’s left arm, severely hurting him. This match forced both wrestlers to dig deep and give it everything they had.

9:53 p.m. ET: Ricochet is the first AEW National Champion!
Ricochet is the inaugural AEW National Champion after winning the Casino Gatuelt Match with 11 other competitors.
Two members of the Hurt Syndicate, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, started the match against each other. Ricochet was the next wrestler to enter the match, but he didn’t come alone as the Gates of Agony joined him.
Claudio Castagnoli entered the match fourth and immediately started to attack Ricochet. Another member of the Death Riders, Daniel Garcia, was the next entrant. The Death Riders began to beat down Orange Cassidy once Wheeler Yuta entered.
It was an excellent moment when Matt Menard came out to take on his former friend, Garcia. During this match, we saw multiple tag teams work together but then struggle when they faced off.

9:24 p.m. ET: FTR defeats Brodido to win the AEW Tag Team Championship!
As the action continued, FTR grew frustrated but finally hit Bandido with a Shatter Machine to win the match. FTR are now three-time AEW Tag Team Champions, tying the Young Bucks for the most reigns in company history. Brodido only had an 87-day reign, but it was memorable with so many elite matches throughout.
From the start of the match, FTR displayed their usual heel tactics, but Brody King quickly took the action to the outside to hurt them. As expected, this was an unbelievable tag team match between two incredible teams.
This match featured plenty of false finishes, with each team nearing a victory multiple times. The fans in Newark were heavily into this match.
Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood have proven throughout the last decade that they are one of the greatest tag teams of this generation and don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

9:01 p.m. ET: “Timeless” Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa pick up the victory!
In the second match of the card, “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa defeated the Babes of Wrath, Sisters of Sin, and Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir in a four-way tag team match. Storm and Shirakawa are now 3-0 as a tag team in AEW.

8:39 p.m. ET: Pac defeats Darby Allin
Over the past few weeks, Darby Allin and Pac have had an intense rivalry, and it carried over into this match from the start. Pac was targeting each area of Allin’s body that was already injured.
Allin kept getting back to his feet and initiated his own violence on Pac. But in the end, Pac’s hard-hitting style was too much for Allin as he eventually picked up the victory via pinfall.
8:16 p.m. ET: El Sky Team defeats The Don Callis Family
The action between El Sky Team and The Don Callis Family carried over into the start of the Full Gear PPV card. After an exciting match, El Sky Team retained their CMLL World Trios Championship. There was visible frustration between Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita when the match ended.
