Nobody is surprised to see Manchester City near the top of the table. One of the Premier League’s powerhouse clubs, their incredible depth of talent always keeps them in the race. But it is a surprise to see Newcastle off to a rough start after three straight seasons in the top seven. Can they get back on pace, or will the Citizens humble them once again?

Manchester City are -105 favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook for this one, with a draw available at +270. If you favor an upset by Newcastle, the club is +260 on the Moneyline. Let’s dig into a pick and prediction for Newcastle vs. Manchester City.

Newcastle vs. Manchester City Prediction, Pick

City come into this game with tremendous form. They’ve only lost once in 14 tries since the beginning of September, reeling off big performances in the Champions League and domestic competitions. City’s offseason additions are working well, and Erling Haaland continues to be the biggest scoring threat in the world. He proved that 10 times over in his international play with Norway.

If Newcastle have any chance at winning this one, they need to keep Haaland under wraps. The problem is, keeping him under wraps sometimes means he ends up with just one goal instead of a brace. Still, they’ve had a strong defense so far, keeping five clean sheets in 11 games. The back line has not been the problem, however.

A dramatic Alexander Isak exit over the summer left them scrambling for a striker. It was a preposterous transfer fee, and some of it went to Nick Woltemade, who has scrounged up some goals. But 11 goals in 11 games as a team won’t cut it. Newcastle will have to find more scoring punch this season if they want to get back into the chase for European football.

With Haaland streaking and City finding cohesion up and down, I don’t see a path through for Newcastle, even at St. James’ Park. The Citizens will follow up their dismantling of defending champions Liverpool with another victory to keep the momentum rolling.

The Pick: Manchester City Moneyline -105
