Tennessee Volunteers at Florida Gators (Saturday – 7:30pm ET)
Tennessee goes on the road for a big Saturday night rivalry game at The Swamp, which generally feels like a spot we can throw records out the window. The Vols have not been covering ever since taking Georgia down to the wire a couple of months ago, going 1-6 ATS since. Despite their 3-7 record, let’s not forget that the Gators have won seven of their last eight at in Gainesville, dating back to last season. That loss, of course, was an early season stunner to USF.
Since then, Florida has only played two games at The Swamp, defeating Mississippi State and Texas outright. The Gators haven’t played at home in over a month, and I think this Saturday night home crowd will show up in a big way for a rivalry game — remember that the Vols have lost 10 straight at The Swamp, with the last victory in 2003. It’s a chance for the Gators to play spoiler, and the defense should be up to the task.
Tennessee’s defense has proven to have plenty of flaws, and I’m expecting Florida to play loose and hit some big plays. Outside of the flukey blowout loss to Kentucky, the Gators have recently gone toe-to-toe with Georgia and Ole Miss. No reason they can’t upset Tennessee in this spot.
CFB Pick: Florida +4 (-108)
