NC State +6.5 (-112): Florida State travels to Raleigh on Friday night, and while neither of these teams have had the season they were hoping for, the winner will become Bowl eligible. The Wolfpack are a solid 4-1 (3-2 ATS) on their home field, with a head scratching loss to Virginia Tech, but also an outright win as a similarly priced underdog to Georgia Tech.
Following the home upset of the Yellow Jackets, NC State went on the road last week and got destroyed by Miami. It puts the Wolfpack in a similar spot to when they upset GT, coming off blowout road losses to Notre Dame and Pitt. That should set up another good motivational spot for the home dog, against an FSU team that’s really struggled on the road this season.
The Seminoles are 0-3 SU/ATS on the road this season, and have lost seven in a row away from home, dating back to last season. The losses in 2025 have come to Clemson, Virginia and Stanford by an average of 9.7 points, failing to cover by 17.3 points. Historically speaking, FSU is 1-8 ATS in its last nine trips to Raleigh, and I think we see that trend continue on Friday night.
Maryland +14 (-108): This is just a really bad spot for Michigan, while Maryland can just sit back and play with house money and see what happens. The Wolverines went right down to the wire last week against Northwestern, needing a last second field goal to get the win at Wrigley Field. Of course, on deck is the big game at home against Ohio State to conclude the regular season. Sandwiched between them is a clear lookahead spot against the Terps.
Michigan is just 1-4 ATS on the road this season, with the lone cover against Nebraska. Even more alarming, the Wolverines are only 1-5 ATS when laying double digits this season. Their only cover way back in September when laying 28 against Central Michigan. Meanwhile, New Mexico +34.5, Wisconsin +17.5, Michigan State +14, Purdue +21 and Northwestern +10 all got home against this team. Since defeating Washington about a month ago, Michigan has been sleep walking a bit, winning the last two over Purdue and Northwestern by a combined seven points.
While Maryland has lost six in a row in the conference, the Terps have showed some spunk, taking Washington and Nebraska down to the wire as a home underdog. Mike Locksley is committed to this program, and the players enjoy playing for him. This should be a spot that Maryland shows up ready to play, and can catch Michigan off guard.
Florida +4 (-108): Tennessee goes on the road for a big Saturday night rivalry game at The Swamp, which generally feels like a spot we can throw records out the window. The Vols have not been covering ever since taking Georgia down to the wire, going 1-6 ATS since. Despite their 3-7 record, let’s not forget that the Gators have won seven of their last eight at in Gainesville, dating back to last season. That loss, of course, was an early season stunner to USF.
Since then, Florida has only played two games at The Swamp, defeating Mississippi State and Texas outright. The Gators haven’t played at home in over a month, and I think this Saturday night home crowd will show up in a big way for a rivalry game. It’s a chance for the Gators to play spoiler, and the defense should be up to the task.
Tennessee’s defense has proven to have plenty of flaws, and I’m expecting Florida to play loose and hit some big plays. Outside of the flukey blowout loss to Kentucky, the Gators have recently gone toe-to-toe with Georgia and Ole Miss. No reason they can’t upset Tennessee in this spot.
