Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is having an MVP-type season, but the big man is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks with a left calf strain, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

This season, Wembanyama is averaging 26.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 50% from the field, all of which are career highs for the former No. 1 overall pick.

Wembanyama missed this past Sunday’s contest vs. the Kings. With him sidelined, Luke Kornet moved into the Spurs’ starting lineup and finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds in 27 minutes (34.75 FPTS). The ex-Celtic will be a strong fantasy option with Wembanyama absent, as will De’Aaron Fox. The point guard posted a 28-point, 11-assist double-double while leading the Spurs with a 28.9% usage rate with Wembanyama inactive Sunday (51.5 FPTS).

San Antonio is 14-23 with Wembanyama sidelined over the last two seasons. Luckily, the Spurs will be facing the Grizzlies on Tuesday, who are 4-10 this season and will be without Ja Morant (calf).
