Boxing fans rejoice — Jake Paul’s got some legit competition.
The former YouTube star will take on former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on Dec. 19 at Miami’s Kaseya Center and live on Netflix.
The bout — scheduled for eight three-minute rounds with 10 oz. gloves — replaces Paul’s canceled bout with lightweight Gervonta Davis.
Paul (12–1) has come a long way since his boxing debut, but this will undoubtedly be his toughest test yet. Not a 60-year-old legend, nor a past-their-prime MMA vet, not even a pro at a massive size disadvantage. No, a former champion, still at the top of his game.
Joshua (28–4) hasn’t fought since getting finished by Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of their title fight in September 2024. He had elbow surgery after the loss and hadn’t fought since. Before that, he rebounded from back-to-back losses to heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk with a four-fight winning streak, punctuated by a second-round knockout of Francis Ngannou — his 25th career knockout.
Looking at the odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, it’s no surprise that Joshua opens up as a staggering -1400 moneyline favorite to beat Paul, who sits as a +750 underdog. As for the finish, Joshua holds -500 odds to win by knockout, while a Paul KO is priced at +1000.
