What happened to Justin Herbert? Live injury updates for Chargers at Jaguars on Sunday 11/16/25

UPDATE: Justin Herbert has returned to the Chargers matchup with the Jaguars following halftime.

Justin Herbert left the Los Angeles Chargers matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars with just 34 seconds remaining in the first half. The Chargers’ franchise quarterback was slammed to the turf on a sack, which was the second quarterback takedown of the day.

Herbert was replaced by Trey Lance for the third-down play and the teams have since gone to halftime in the matchup. He spent time in the blue tent and jogged to the locker room after, but his status will be one to monitor coming out of the break. Prior to the injury, Herbert had completed nine of his 15 pass attempts for 81 yards and added 21 rushing yards on the ground. Jacksonville leads 14-6 at halftime.
