Washington Huskies vs. Purdue Boilermakers prediction, pick for CFB Week 12 on Saturday 11/15/25

Seattle gets a November Big Ten night that still feels slightly surreal: Purdue in Husky Stadium under gray sky. Washington sits at six and three, bruised by league heavyweights yet very alive for a statement stretch run. Purdue arrives as a rebuilding two and eight, searching less for miracles than for proof the foundation is real. Below is my prediction for CFB Week 12’s football game between the Washington Huskies and the Purdue Boilermakers.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Washington vs. Purdue prediction, preview

The raw profile tilts hard toward purple and gold. Washington averages 32.7 points and about 418 yards per game, with 6.46 yards per snap driving that balance. The current starter has produced 2,313 passing yards at a 161.9 efficiency rating with sixteen touchdowns and only five interceptions. They throw for roughly 257 yards, run for 161, and sit above 52% on third downs, which suffocates opponents. In the red zone, 34 scores on 37 trips show how rarely this offense wastes field position. Defensively they allow just 20 points and about 319 yards per game, with opponents stuck near five yards per snap. Opponents convert only 42% on third down while managing 3.55 yards per carry and modest explosives through the air. Across from that, Purdue’s year reads like a grind: 20.4 points, 341 yards, and too many empty marches.

The Boilermakers sit around 220 passing and 137 rushing yards, yet live outside the national top hundred in scoring. They convert under 40% on third downs and carry a brutal minus ten turnover margin, with 22 giveaways already. Devin Mockobee remains the heartbeat, dragging an improving line to serviceable efficiency but rarely flipping games with explosives. Even defensive gains feel partial; points allowed have dropped from nearly forty to twenty nine, yet big downs still wobble. Purdue has tightened run fits and limited breakaway sprints, but chunk drives still pile up against a young secondary. Layer an erratic kicking game on top, and the margin for error in Seattle shrinks to almost nothing.

Purdue vs. Washington pick, best bet

There is an underdog path, and it does not require a fairy tale, just stubbornness and noise management. Washington has lived heavy emotional weeks, with Ohio State, Maryland, Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin crowding their recent calendar. This is a sandwich spot before UCLA and Oregon, against a team the public expects them to handle comfortably. Purdue can lean into Mockobee, shorten the game, and steal possessions with fourth-down aggression that Odom embraces. If Washington blinks in the red zone or coughs up two turnovers, suddenly fourteen and a hook feels rich. Add one busted coverage for a cheap Purdue touchdown, and the door opens to a sweaty, late cover.

The market has settled around Washington -14.5 with a total near 50.5, a tight marriage to both profiles. Husky games average about 52.7 combined points; Purdue’s sit near 49.4, leaving the number right on the seam. Washington owns a four and one home record with an average margin near nineteen, even with Ohio State baked in. Purdue, by contrast, rarely threatens against winning teams; when the step up arrives, the offense usually stalls before halftime. I respect the spot, but numbers and matchup still argue for laying points rather than squinting at the dog.

I expect Washington to lean into balanced, tempo-controlled offense from pistol and shotgun, forcing Purdue’s safeties into constant conflict. Inside zone and duo should soften the front, then play-action shot concepts test corners who must tackle in space. On defense, Washington can squeeze early downs with light boxes that still hold 3.5 yards per carry, trusting coverage. That forces Mockobee and the quarterbacks into long-yardage answers against a secondary allowing about 210 passing yards each week. If Purdue chases from behind, Washington’s rush packages and crowd noise should turn predictable dropbacks into sacks and hurried throws.

My card rides with Washington -14.5 and a script that settles somewhere around Washington 37, Purdue 14.

Best bet: Washington -14.5 (-110) vs. Purdue
