The Utes are back in the Big 12 title race. They need BYU and Cincinnati to both lose a game to get back into the mix, but those two teams still have to play each other, so that is a real possibility. The team struggled for a stretch in the middle of the season while quarterback Devon Dampier was dealing with an injury. However, the Utes have looked unstoppable the past two weeks. Against Cincinnati and Colorado, the Utes won by a combined score of 98-21. If this team can get into the Big 12 title game, it could be a real threat to Texas Tech and potentially in the College Football Playoff as well.
Baylor Preview
Baylor is another team that suffered from a serious dip in form for several weeks during the middle of the season. After losing the season opener to Auburn, Baylor looked like a real contender in the Big 12 over the next few weeks. It has one of the best passing offenses in the nation, led by Sawyer Robertson. Robertson leads the nation in passing touchdowns and ranks fifth in passing yards. However, Baylor’s defense has consistently let its team down all season. It will be tough for Baylor to slow down this Utah offense that is currently firing on all cylinders. Baylor needs one more win to get to bowl eligibility, and while it has easier matchups the next two weeks, the Bears would love to get that signature win over Utah.

My best bet for this game is the over 60.5. Both of these offenses are capable of putting up points in bunches, and both have defensive frailties. Utah has scored at least 42 points in four of its past five games. Against a Baylor defense that ranks 108th in success rate, Utah should be able to move the ball with ease. Baylor should also be able to move it through the air with Sawyer Robertson. Robertson has had success against almost every defense he has faced, and Texas Tech proved that a good offense can beat this Utah defense. Six of Baylor’s nine games this season have gone over 60.5 points. This should be another shootout between two great offenses, pushing the game over the high total.
