Saturday brings an interesting showdown in the Big Ten as the Iowa Hawkeyes (6-3) head to the West Coast to battle the USC Trojans (7-2). It’s a nationally ranked matchup that pits No. 21 against No. 17 as USC looks to remain alive and frisky in the conference race. Beyond the typical game lines, there are plenty of player props to check out for the stars on both sides.

Kamari Moulton 80+ rushing yards (-129)
If there’s one thing college football fans know Iowa for, it’s the program’s love of a ground-and-pound, smash-mouth, old-school offense. The Hawkeyes are 16th in rush rate and headlined in the backfield by Kamari Moulton, a sophomore with 522 rushing yards on the campaign. That may not sound like the most impressive total, but he’s put forth some very consistent efforts this year with at least 68 yards via the ground in his last six games, missing that mark in just the season opener. However, Moulton’s last five games have seen him hit at least 75 rushing yards, and he’s racked up a minimum of 87 yards in three of his last four contests. With at least 14 carries in all but one game, Moulton sees plenty of work and now gets the chance to produce against a USC defense that allows 141.7 rushing yards per outing. While the Hawkeyes could perhaps wind up somewhat game-scripted out of the rushing attack if they fall behind big, the lead halfback should hit 80+ yards on the ground to keep up this recent hot streak.
Makai Lemon 90+ receiving yards (-114)
Iowa’s defense allows the fourth-fewest passing yards per game and seventh-fewest yards per pass in the entire sport. However, there’s still a USC receiving line worth taking in this contest… can you guess who? If you assumed it’s star wideout Makai Lemon, you’d be absolutely right. While the matchup isn’t great, the junior ranks third among all players with 937 receiving yards and 11th in receptions with 61 as well. Lemon has racked up 90 receiving yards in six of his nine contests this season, so the hit rate on this player prop bet is reliable thus far. We’re banking on the talent here over matchup, but that’s not a bad bet by any means. He’s largely a target hog who should see plenty of looks against a strong defense, and with 15.4 yards per catch with a 20+ yard reception in all but one game, Lemon can hit this via big plays too. Plus, the Trojans’ passing attack averages 303.0 yards per game to begin with, ninth in the nation, and will surely turn to its top playmaker on Saturday in this crucial contest.
