Zhang Weili aims to become the 11th two-division champion in UFC history on Saturday night, moving up to challenge Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight title in the co-main event of UFC 322 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Shevchenko (25-4-1) reclaimed the flyweight throne last September, emerging victorious in an epic trilogy with Alexa Grasso. The Kyrgyzstani champ then added another masterful defense to her resume with a dominant unanimous decision win over Manon Fiorot in May.
Standing 5-foot-5 with a 65.5-inch reach, “Bullet” is the best pure striker in the division — a point she reinforced against Fiorot, who was expected to challenge her on the feet. Weili (26-3) makes the jump to 125 pounds after cleaning out the strawweight division. The Chinese great reclaimed the 115-pound belt with a second-round submission of Carla Esparza in Nov. 2022 and went on to defend it three more times — most recently dominating the previously undefeated Tatiana Suarez in February. With no one left to take it from her, Weili vacated the belt to pursue a new challenge against a fellow all-time great in Shevchenko.
Standing 5-foot-4 with a 63-inch reach, the 36-year-old Weili bulldozes opponents with relentless pressure and constant takedown attempts, landing 5.15 significant strikes per minute and averaging 2.24 takedowns at 46% accuracy.
