Fresno State Bulldogs vs. Wyoming Cowboys prediction, pick for CFB Week 12 on Saturday 11/15/25

Fresno gets a proper November test, not a formality. Wyoming brings its bruised record and blue-collar edge down from Laramie, still chasing bowl air and absolutely built to turn sixty minutes into a fistfight. Fresno State counters with a veteran locker room that’s tasted recent hardware and wants this season to land closer to standard than scare. It’s Mountain West identity on display: one program trying to reassert Valley dominance at home, the other trying to prove its defense and run game still travel anywhere. Strip away the logos and it’s simple—two teams hovering near the season’s hinge, knowing this night nudges everything toward progress or regret. Below is my prediction for CFB Week 12’s football game between the Fresno State Bulldogs and the Wyoming Cowboys.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Fresno State vs. Wyoming prediction, preview

I’m building this around that Wyoming defense. The Cowboys are allowing 20.2 points and only 218.3 yards per game, a top-tier profile in this league. Linebacker Brayden Johnson sits on fifty-four tackles with five for loss and two interceptions, reading keys like a coach. Tyce Westland brings six tackles for loss and two sacks from the back end, while Ben Florentine has already stacked four sacks and even logged a safety. That front has real teeth against a Fresno offense living at 26.1 points and 347.9 yards, splitting about 218 through the air and 155 on the ground. Quarterback E.J. Warner is completing close to 69% of his throws, but nine interceptions give a group like this permission to break on everything.

Wyoming’s offense is ugly on the surface and exactly what you want in this weather underneath. 19.4 and 346.2 yards per game looks toothless until you remember they still run for 150.1 a night and now walk into potential cold, wet Central Valley air. Samuel Harris has 450 rushing yards at 5.3 a carry; Sam Scott adds 353 more and brings the thud. Rookie receiver Chris Durr has 398 yards and four scores as the only real vertical threat, which fits the ask here: hit just enough play-action to keep Fresno’s safeties from living at six yards. Kaden Anderson’s eleven touchdowns and nine interceptions are the obvious red flag, but that is exactly where Wyoming can self-correct. You do not ask him to win a track meet; you ask him to convert third-and-four and let that defense breathe.

Wyoming vs. Fresno State pick, best bet

The obvious counter lives in Fresno’s building. The Bulldogs are 16–4 straight up in their last twenty at home and still have a functional run game with Rayshon Luke and Bryson Donelson combining for 789 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. Their defense has already forced sixteen turnovers and holds opponents to 23.3 points, and this is a Wyoming offense that lives near the bottom-fifteen nationally in scoring. If Fresno gets out early, the narrative says Anderson’s interception column grows, the Bulldogs’ balanced attack leans on a tired front, and this closes in the 24–17 neighborhood everyone projected all week. That is the Fresno script. It is clean, logical, and very much priced.

I still think the sharper side is the one wearing brown. The number hangs around a field goal with a total in the low forties because both offenses share that 347-ish yards per game stamp and both defenses tackle. That’s exactly the kind of spread where a top-thirty scoring defense, a run game that travels, and bad weather grab extra weight. Wyoming just pitched a 28–0 shutout of Colorado State and has dropped three of the last four by a combined 36 points; they live in one-score rock fights already. Fresno has shown its own fragility with blowout losses mixed into that home dominance. If this stays compressed and choppy, style points evaporate and plus-points matter more than brand.

I expect Wyoming to call this like it’s a snow game even if it’s just cold rain. Heavy personnel, Harris and Scott pounding inside zone and duo, play-action shots to Durr only when the safeties cheat. On defense, they should flood the intermediate windows, trust Johnson and Westland to squeeze crossers, and dare Warner to string long drives without the one throw he wants back. Fresno will answer with Luke and Donelson early and plenty of quick game, but over four quarters that Cowboy front should win enough early downs to force contested third-and-longs instead of layups.

Give me Wyoming live to dent the moneyline in a low-tempo grinder. Call it Wyoming 20, Fresno State 19, with the Cowboys’ pads and patience dragging this into their kind of night.

Best bet: Wyoming (+130) at Fresno State
