CFB Week 12 Prop Bets
Louisville vs. Clemson: Keyjuan Brown 90+ Rushing Yards (+103)
Louisville is still in the mix in a crowded ACC with the title game just a couple of weeks away. To stay alive, the Cardinals need to beat the preseason ACC favorite, Clemson, on Friday night. The Tigers may be out of the picture for the conference and the College Football Playoff, but on their best day, they are still a tough opponent to face. Louisville will need to find a way to win without its star running back, Isaac Brown. That makes Keyjuan Brown Louisville’s primary ball carrier for this game against Clemson.
Keyjuan Brown started the season as a backup to Isaac Brown, but proved he deserved a role in the offense, even before Isaac Brown’s injury. Three weeks ago, against Boston College, Brown broke a 67-yard run, showing that he was an explosive option behind Isaac Brown. He ended that game with 95 rushing yards. The following week, against Virginia Tech, he was given more touches as a reward for his good play. He finished that game with 12 carries for 94 yards and two scores. While the loss of Isaac Brown was a tough one for Louisville, Jeff Brohm was confident that Keyjuan Brown could carry the load. In his first game as RB1 last week against Cal, Keyjuan Brown rushed for 136 yards.
This is not the Clemson defense of old, ranking 67th nationally in defensive EPA/rush. Keyjuan Brown has rushed for 90+ yards in three straight games and should make it four straight on Friday night.
Oregon vs. Minnesota: Jamari Johnson Anytime TD (+175)
The Oregon offense is banged up heading into this matchup against Minnesota. Last week, the Ducks were without three of their top four pass-catchers on the season. Wide receivers Dakorien Moore and Gary Bryant Jr. were out, along with starting tight end Kenyon Sadiq. All of those players are expected to miss this Minnesota game as well. With two massive games against USC and Washington to end the season, it would make sense for Dan Lanning to rest those players, even if they are questionable to play on Friday night. On a short week after a physically and emotionally draining game in Iowa City last Saturday, Lanning should keep those players sidelined so they are ready for USC next weekend.
In the absence of Kenyon Sadiq, Jamari Johnson became the primary tight end. Johnson had featured in every game this season, but had never had more than two catches in a game. Despite his limited role, Johnson scored one of the biggest touchdowns of Oregon’s season. He got the game-tying touchdown in overtime against Penn State. That sent the game to double overtime, where Oregon won the game, setting off a chain of events that included James Franklin getting fired. In his bigger role last week against Iowa, Johnson had four catches for 36 yards. Between the weather and the opposing defense, conditions could not have been harder for Oregon last week.
This week, they face a mediocre Minnesota defense at home. Dante Moore should be much more comfortable, and the Ducks should have multiple scoring chances. Jamari Johnson should be one of the go-to targets for Moore, especially in the red zone. At 6’5, 257 pounds, Johnson can use his huge frame to create space in the end zone and be a target for Moore. At these odds, Johnson is a great bet to score against Minnesota.
