While Kyle Williams had the highlight touchdown with Kayshon Boutte (hamstring) inactive last Sunday against the Buccaneers, Hollins was the primary beneficiary with Boutte sidelined. Hollins hauled in six of his team-high 10 targets for 106 yards. The veteran led the Patriots with a huge 34.5% target share and an 83% route rate, while Williams only saw a 6.9% target share and a 58% route rate.
Additionally, Hollins led New England with three targets over 20 yards. Boutte will remain out Thursday against the Jets and, in his absence, Hollins should continue to run a route on almost all of his team’s dropbacks. Another target share of over 30% is unlikely. Still, Hollins has garnered a target on 17% of his routes this season, so he should see enough volume to surpass 37.5 receiving yards, regardless of this being a below-average matchup against New York, which is giving up the fifth-fewest receptions to receivers this season (92).
Hollins has logged over 60% of the snaps in four straight games, averaging 4.3 catches for 63.3 receiving yards per game during this stretch. He’s posted at least 49 receiving yards in three of these four contests.
