Detroit Tigers southpaw Tarik Skubal and Pittsburgh Pirates righty Paul Skenes were named the 2026 Cy Young award winners on Wednesday night, taking home the American League and National League honors, respectively.

Skubal, who led the AL with a 2.21 ERA and 0.89 WHIP with 241 strikeouts, took home the award for a second consecutive year — the first AL hurler to do so since Pedro Martinez in 1999 and 2000.

Skenes, who boasted an MLB-best 1.97 ERA with a 0.95 WHIP and 216 Ks, became the first pitcher to win the NL Cy Young unanimously since Sandy Alcantara in 2022.

Looking ahead to next year, it’s no surprise that both pitchers open with the best odds to add some more hardware to their respective trophy cases.

Skubal opens with +380 odds to win the 2026 Cy Young on DraftKings Sportsbook, followed by Boston’s Garrett Crochet (+400), Texas’ Jacob deGrom (+850), and Kansas City’s Cole Ragans (+900).

On the NL side, Skenes holds +350 odds to take home the 2026 Cy Young, followed by Los Angeles’ World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto (+475), Philadelphia’s Cristopher Sanchez (+900), and San Francisco’s Logan Webb (+1200).
