Week 10 of the NFL season will conclude with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers. Jalen Hurts and company continue their journey to repeat as Super Bowl champions and take on another legitimate threat in the NFC Conference tonight.

There has been plenty made about the Packers’ ability to limit quarterbacks with their legs. They are holding opposing quarterbacks to just 6.6 rushing yards per game, which is the best rate in the NFL. However, this is a bit distorted by the quarterbacks they have faced. To this point, they have faced Bryce Young, Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Joe Flacco (twice), Jared Goff, Jayden Daniels, and Jacoby Brissett. Daniels is the only true dual-threat QB they have faced, but the reigning Rookie of the Year got injured during the matchup. While Daniels remained in the game, his mobility was not the same following the knee sprain, and he ended with 17 rushing yards.
Expect a bit of a different story with Jalen Hurts tonight. Through his opening eight games, the two-time Pro Bowler has completed 70.2% of his pass attempts for 1,677 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and just one interception while adding 207 rushing yards and five scores on the ground. Hurts is averaging 25.9 rushing yards per game, which is the lowest since his rookie year. He averaged 42.0 rushing yards per game last year and has averaged 50+ rushing yards per game in two other seasons in his career. Even with his 25.9 rushing yard average in mind, Hurts has tallied over 32.5 yards on the ground in three games this year.
Temperatures will be below freezing at Lambeau Field tonight, and the passing game will be difficult to come by. Hurts’ IQ is among his best qualities and count on him to be comfortable doing what his best for the team and leaning on his legs. He is averaging 7.3 rush attempts per game and has carried the ball at least four times in seven of the eight games. Expect Hurts to take off and pick up some chunks of yards throughout this matchup to record over 32.5 rushing yards tonight.
Jalen Hurts Anytime Touchdown (+100)
In addition to the temperature conditions, there is a narrative aspect to this matchup. Green Bay led the charge in attempting to ban the Tush Push this past offseason. This effort fell two votes short, and the play remains legal. The Eagles execute the Push at a better rate than any other team in the league. You can say plenty about Nick Sirianni as a head coach, but emotions and pettiness are surely a part of the equation. The Eagles’ head coach wears his heart on his sleeve and will be itching to break out their most effective form of short-yardage offense whenever the situation presents itself. This will especially come into play around the goal line.
It is rare to see Hurts’ anytime touchdown odds at even value and this is a perfect matchup to capitalize on this. The reigning Super Bowl MVP has five rushing touchdowns on the season thus far, scoring in four of the eight games. He has also posted rushing touchdown totals of 14, 15, 13, and 10 across the past four seasons. In addition, Saquon Barkley tweaked his groin in the previous matchup with the Giants. He had an additional week off due to the bye and is expected to be a full go, but it would not be a surprise if the Eagles are a bit cautious. Even without this in mind, Hurts is the more prominent goal-line back in plenty of situations.
Of Hurts’ five rushing scores, three have come on the one-yard line this year. He has a team-high 18 rush attempts in the red zone this season, including nine carries inside the five-yard line. Hurts is perfectly capable of scampering free for a notable gain that ends in a touchdown and will be the top option right around the goal line all night. Count on the Eagles getting the last laugh in the Tush Push conversation and for Hurts to reach pay dirt for the sixth time this season.
