The PGA TOUR travels to Bermuda this week for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Since its inception in 2019, this event has been played at Port Royal Golf Club (par 71, 6,828 yards, Bermuda greens) in South Hampton, Bermuda. At last year’s edition of this tournament, Rafael Campos (-19) won by three strokes. This week’s field features 120 players and there will be a standard top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
Port Royal Golf Club is a short seaside course that features narrow fairways, short rough, large greens, 87 bunkers and water in play on four holes. With this venue located right on the coast of the Atlantic, this tropical course’s biggest defense is the coastal wind, but Port Royal is still susceptible to low scoring. For three straight years, the winner at this par 71 has shot -19 or better.
While being long isn’t necessary at this short track, players must be in strong form with both their irons and putter to contend at Port Royal. Of the six victors at this course, four have finished the event top-15 in GIR and four have finished the tournament top-five in PPR. During his three-stroke win here a year ago, Campos led in PPR. Six of the 11 par fours at this par 71 fall between 350-400 yards, making this the most important length of hole for research this week and seeking out players who are efficient putters on Bermuda grass makes a ton of sense.

Greyson Sigg ($7,400) – Sigg has been outstanding at Port Royal and he has improved in each of his three starts at the venue, finishing T-22, T-11 and T-9 at the par 71, in that order. That T-9 came just last season and Sigg returns to Port Royal this week in convincing form. The 30-year-old has made five of his last six cuts and three of these finishes have been top-20 results.
Sigg has gained strokes on approach at four events in a row and he ranks 27th in the metric this season. Additionally, Sigg ranks 36th in par four performance. The veteran is a great combination of strong course history and current form, and he is one of the best values on the board at only $7,400.
Justin Lower ($7,300) – Lower was a featured pick in this article for last week’s World Wide Technology Championship and we have to go right back to the 36-year-old at this cheap price. Lower finished T-31 at El Cardonal last week, which comes after he finished T-3 at the Bank of Utah Championship the week prior. Lower gained strokes on approach at both these events and he shot under par in all eight of his rounds at these tournaments.
Looking to build off these strong showings, Lower now heads to Port Royal, where he has never finished worse than T-18 in four starts. Lower finished T-5 at Port Royal last season and he ranks first among this field in strokes gained per round at the par 71. Lower easily could have been priced in the $8,000 range this week and he is a steal at only $7,300.
Ben Silverman ($7,000) – Silverman has never competed at Port Royal before, but the Canadian is thriving right now and needs to be rostered at this low price tag. After finishing T-3 at the Bank of Utah Championship, Silverman finished T-21 at the World Wide Technology Championship last week, both of which were his first attempts at these tournaments.
Silverman has shot under par in all eight of his rounds during this stretch, including an 8-under 64 at El Cardonal to close out last week’s World Wide Technology Championship. If Silverman can carry this momentum over to the scoreable Port Royal, a top-20 finish is within reach for him in his debut at the seaside venue.
Ben Kohles ($7,000) – Kohles has advanced to the weekend in both of his starts at Port Royal and he has been reliable as of late, making seven of his past nine cuts. Kohles has carded four top-30 finishes during this span, including a T-20 at the Bank of Utah Championship two weeks ago.
Kohles is an elite ball-striker, ranking first in SG APP and SGT2G when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, and he is way underpriced for his current form.
