Week 10 had several statement wins, a few surprises, and some blowouts in the late window. Across the 10-game DFS fantasy football slate, there were plenty of top players who went off for huge games. In the biggest contest of the week, the high-scoring entry in the NFL $2.75M FANTASY FOOTBALL MILLIONAIRE [$1M TO 1ST] came from Standish, who found flames across the board with an impressive 239.62 fantasy points, which was just enough to edge out Jallozzi40 by over two points to claim the narrow victory over the rest of the field of 152,263 entries.
Here’s a look at the highest-scoring entry from the Week 10 millionaire contest:
Building around the Buccaneers
The Bucs came up short in their 28-23 loss to the Patriots, but the passing game was key to Standish coming up big. The entry included four players from the Bucs, who all delivered good totals.
Baker Mayfield (22.92 FPTS) for 273 passing yards and three touchdowns, completing 28 of his 43 pass attempts, while trying to lead the Bucs back against the Patriots.
He connected with Emeka Egbuka (26.5 FPTS) for one of those touchdowns and six catches for 115 receiving yards. He found Tez Johnson (20.2 FPTS) , who finished with four catches for 42 yards as a good value play as well.
Cade Otton (17.2 FPTS) didn’t get into the end zone but did have nine catches for 82 yards to still post a very solid total with PPR production. The three pass-catchers totaled 239 of Baker’s 273 passing yards, and the four Bucs were good leverage plays since none were owned in over 17% of entries. Baker was only owned in 5.7% of entries, and he finished as the No. 8 QB on the slate.
Runaway Achane!
The Dolphins pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the week by knocking off the Bills, 30-13. De’Von Achane (43.5 FPTS) went off for the biggest total on the main slate, racking up 174 rushing yards with six catches for 51 receiving yards.
Achane ripped off two long touchdown runs in the fourth quarter to put the game away and put Standish in a great spot.
The other running back spot in the top entry was also very productive in the early game as TreVeyon Henderson (31 FPTS) carried the load for the Patriots with Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) out and Terrell Jennings (knee) leaving early.
The Patriots’ rookie had a breakthrough performance with 147 rushing yards and three receiving yards, along with a pair of rushing touchdowns.
Jets DST cleared for takeoff
The Jets DST (19 FPTS) was very affordable for their matchup against the Browns, and even after dealing away multiple stars from the defense at the Trade Deadline, they were able to post a big game coming off the bye week.
The Jets racked up six sacks and allowed 20 points, but their huge production came on back-to-back return touchdowns in the first quarter:
The Jets DST had just 3.6% ownership but was the second-highest DST producer of the day, behind only the Seahawks DST (21 FPTS), whose salary was almost $1,000 higher.
The Big Finish
In the later window, the entry from Standish had two big-time performers. At receiver, the entry grabbed Jauan Jennings (18.1 FPTS) of the 49ers, who was the team’s top target against the Rams.
After a costly early fumble, Jennings bounced back to finish with six catches for 71 yards and a touchdown.
The other big contributor in the late window was the second-highest scorer on the slate. Jahmyr Gibbs (41.2 FPTS) had an awful week last week, managing only 5.8 fantasy points against the Vikings, but he turned that around in a big way against the Commanders Sunday afternoon. After his struggles last week, he was only in 12.3% of entries on Sunday, but Standish knew Gibbs was ready for a bounce-back performance.
In the later window, Gibbs fueled the Lions big road win, totaling three touchdowns while taking his 15 carries for 142 rushing yards and his four catches for 30 receiving yards.
The Bottom Line
The top three scorers on the main slate in Week 10 were Achane, Gibbs, and Henderson, and those three running backs formed the key to the top entry from Standish. The receivers mixed in were solid values and Mayfield was good at quarterback, but it was the three high-scoring, multi-touchdown running backs that carried the day for Standish. The Jets DST as a sneaky leverage play with big returns also helped.
Looking ahead to Week 11, the NFL has another big 11-game slate on Sunday afternoon. Only the Saints and Colts are on a bye week, so there is one extra game on the schedule compared to this week. The International Series continues with the Commanders and Achane’s Dolphins meeting in Madrid, and the big afternoon matchup features the Chiefs returning from their bye week to take on the surging Broncos in Denver.
