The 49ers are hosting the Rams on Sunday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Los Angeles is favored by 5.5 points and this game carries a total of 49.5 points.

Christian McCaffrey U 63.5 Rushing Yards (-108)

McCaffrey has rushed for over 100 yards in two of his last three games, but both of these games were wins for the 49ers. Sunday is a different situation, as San Francisco is a 5.5-point underdog to the 6-2 Rams, who have won three straight. In losses this season, the 49ers have been forced to rely on their passing game and as a result, McCaffrey is only averaging 14 carries for 42.7 rushing yards per game in San Francisco’s three losses, compared to 21 carries for 78.0 rushing yards per game in the team’s six wins.

In general, McCaffrey isn’t having an efficient season as a rusher, averaging a career-low 3.5 YPC, which ranks 53rd of the 70 running backs who have seen at least 20 carries. McCaffrey has fell short of 63.5 rushing yards in six of his nine starts and Los Angeles is a poor matchup on the ground, with it’s defense giving up the seventh-fewest yards per rush this season (3.9).

McCaffrey having a modest outing as a rusher is likely in this spot and backing him for under 63.5 rushing yards is smart Sunday.
