Two six-win teams, the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers, will face off tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET. The Bulls started the season 5-0 but have since lost two of their previous three games. Cleveland has won three consecutive contests. The Cavaliers have won 11 of the last 12 matchups against the Bulls.
Below, I preview the game and give my prediction for tonight’s matchup between the Bulls and the Cavaliers.
Bulls vs. Cavaliers preview, prediction
The Cavs have been without their starting point guard, Darius Garland, to begin the season. But their best player, Donovan Mitchell, has leveled up his game in the meantime, averaging 30.9 points per contest, the fifth most in the NBA. Evan Mobley is also averaging a career-high 19.6 points per game.
Josh Giddey is in the midst of a breakout season for the Bulls, averaging 22.3 points, 9.8 assists, and 9.6 rebounds per game on 48.9 shooting from the field and 41.7 percent on three pointers. All of those are career highs for Giddey. Six players for the Bulls are averaging double-digit points per game this season.
The Bulls have lost their last two road games against two elite Eastern Conference teams, the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks. Cleveland allows 114.7 points per contest, the ninth fewest in the NBA, and should present problems for Chicago’s offense. The Bulls have given up at least 123 points four times this season and twice on the road.
Bulls vs. Cavaliers, best bet
The Cavs have won back-to-back games by at least 12 points and have won four of their six games this season by nine-plus points. Since Cleveland has beaten Chicago by over 8.5 points in their last three matchups, it is wise to get them to cover the spread of -8.5 at -110 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
