Daniel Gafford left Friday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies with 9:58 left in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, it was announced that Gafford would not return due to right ankle soreness.
There’s been no mention of when the injury occurred.
Prior to exiting, Gafford contributed one rebound in 12 minutes of action. If Gafford misses an extended period of time, the Mavericks will be very thin at center because Dereck Lively II and Anthony Davis are both out due to injury. Dwight Powell and Moussa Cisse would likely soak up most of the playing time at center if all of Gafford, Lively and Davis are out.
Dallas next plays on Saturday in Washington.
