Erling Haaland has been a goalscoring machine this season, and I am backing him to get on the scoresheet once again on Wednesday. -185 odds are not ideal, but that’s what you get when Haaland scores as much as he does. He has scored in each of City’s first three league phase games and has four total goals in the tournament this season. The Norwegian striker has also been firing domestically, scoring 13 times in 10 Premier League games so far. He has a whopping seven more goals than any other player in England’s top flight this season.
These two sides last matched up in the 2022/23 group stage, with Man City winning 2-1 at home before drawing the return leg 0-0 in Germany. It should come as no surprise that Haaland scored the winning goal in their home victory against his old team. In his career, Haaland has scored 53 goals in 51 Champions League appearances, including 11 goals in his last 10.
Man City have been in good form recently, winning four of their last five games in all competitions and I think that will translate to this game. Whether or not they win remains to be seen, but all Erling Haaland does is score goals, and I’d be shocked if Dortmund kept him out on Wednesday.
