Jeff’s King of the Court Pick for Tuesday, November 4: Tyrese Maxey
Through the first two weeks of the 2025 King of the Court campaign, I’ve nailed both winners. It’s time to make it three in a row!
While I picked Giannis Antetokounmpo last week, he technically tied with the player I’m rolling with on this slate. Tyrese Maxey has been on quite the tear to open the season, solidifying himself as the new face of Philadelphia 76ers basketball.
Through six outings, Maxey is averaging 33.7 points, nine assists and 4.8 rebounds while shooting a ridiculous 46.4% from three. Unsurprisingly, all of those are career highs. We saw plenty flashes of offensive superstardom from Maxey last season, but without any significant assist or rebound upside, King of the Court was typically out of reach. Now, with Maxey operating as the primary playmaker and nearly recording double-digit dimes per game, things have clearly changed. What makes those numbers even more impressive is that Maxey is accumulating them while seeing a usage rate under 29%.
Considering Philly’s recent string of success, it’s safe to assume the ball is going to be in Maxey’s hands a lot in a matchup against a good Bulls team. Look for the combo guard to stuff the stat sheet Tuesday night.
