UPDATE 3:02 PM ET: The Texans have ruled C.J. Stroud (head) out for the remainder of today’s game against the Broncos.
Texans’ star quarterback C.J. Stroud has left the matchup against the Denver Broncos due to a head injury. The former Rookie of the Year was taking off on a scramble and sliding at the first down line before being hit by Kris Abrams-Draine. The contact occurred at his chest area and led to Stroud’s head bouncing on the turf.
The Texans star remained down for a few minutes while trainers attended to him before walking off under his own power. Stroud gave a thumbs up to the home Texans’ crowd but was evaluated in the blue tent and has since been taken to the locker room for further evaluation.
Before leaving due to injury, Stroud had completed six of his 10 pass attempts for 79 yards and added 12 rushing yards on the ground. The Texans held a 3-0 lead at the time of the injury.
