The Packers had an early bye and have looked dominant in the weeks after. They’re 3-0 with a 5-1-1 overall record.
They’ll host the Panthers, who own a 4-4 record through the first half of the season.
Green Bay is a 13.5-point favorite and -1100 on the moneyline, while Carolina is +700 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 44.5 points.
Here are my favorite player props for this Week 9 NFL game between the Packers and Panthers.
Packers vs. Panthers Best Prop Bets
Chuba Hubbard over 23.5 rushing yards (-113)
Green Bay’s rushing defense is stellar, and there’s a timeshare in the Panthers’ backfield. These two factors initially made me want to stay away from Carolina rushing props, but this is too low of a line for Chuba Hubbard.
Hubbard is likely losing his starting job to Rico Dowdle for the rest of the season, but the Panthers won’t completely exclude him from the offense. The two are expected to split time.
This isn’t a good matchup for Hubbard, as Green Bay’s run defense ranks first in carries, third in yards, fifth in touchdowns and fourth in yards per attempt. It’s an elite group that should give Carolina trouble.
Still, 23.5 rushing yards is too small of a line. Hubbard has hit this mark in all six of his games, including a blowout loss to the Bills in Week 8. As long as Hubbard gets around 10 carries, which he has in every game, then he should clear 23.5 with ease.
Josh Jacobs anytime touchdown (-150)
Let’s take the other side of the rushing game, too. The Packers have a well-balanced offense thanks to Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs contributing at a high level in their respective games.
Jacobs is having another strong year, posting nine touchdowns and 63.9 rushing yards per game. Even as he inches closer to 30 years old, Jacobs remains one of the best and most consistent running backs in the NFL.
There’s a lot to choose from in terms of Jacobs’ prop bets. His 64.5 rushing yards line is intriguing, especially since the Packers are likely to play with a lead. His receiving yards (12.5) is also a good choice as he’s capable of breaking loose on a pass in the flat.
My best bet, however, is Jacobs to score a touchdown. He’s scored nine this year, which is second behind Jonathan Taylor’s 12 rushing touchdowns. He’s scored in six of his seven games this year. It’s a steeper price at -150, but it should be a lot higher considering Carolina’s run defense allows the 11th most rushing touchdowns this season.
Tetairoa McMillan over 56.5 receiving yards (-109)
With how the Packers have been playing in the past three weeks, it’s likely they play with a lead yet again in Week 9. The Panthers are the weaker team with DraftKings Sportsbook listing them as 13.5-point underdogs on the road.
The best way to overcome a lead is quick points through the air. Tetairoa McMillan is the top option for Bryce Young and will get the first look on most plays. He had high expectations heading into his rookie season and has delivered with a solid first half.
McMillan has over 56.5 receiving yards in five of eight games this season, including last week against the Bills. If this game turns into a blowout as the spread indicates, McMillan will get even more yards.
