We’ve got a real defensive showdown on our hands this Sunday. Both the Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans are hoping their elite defensive units can propel them to the postseason. It’s going to be a grind-it-out slugfest, and it comes with an interesting player prop market.
Houston is a 1.5-point favorite and -122 on the moneyline, while Denver is a +102 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 40.5 points. Here are my favorite player props for this Week 9 NFL game between the Broncos and Texans.
Broncos vs. Texans Best Prop Bets
Bo Nix 1+ Interceptions Thrown (-126)
It’s going to be a long day for Bo Nix against this Texans defense. Houston ranks in the top-five in total passing yards allowed, total passing touchdowns allowed, interceptions, and net yards per attempt allowed. The fierce pass rush — bolstered by Will Anderson Jr. and complemented by their Derek Stingley Jr.-led secondary — is a formidable formula for any team to overcome. Nix is certainly mistake-prone, and I expect one of his passes to find the wrong hands.
Courtland Sutton Under 56.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
If I’m going to fade Nix, might as well fade his top receiver. Courtland Sutton is a great talent, but he is going to see a lot of time against Derek Stingley Jr. That’s a rough day at the office for even the best receivers. I’m not expecting many big plays from Denver’s WR1.
Nico Collins Over 63.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
Good news for Nico Collins: the best corner in the world, Patrick Surtain II, will not be playing in this game. That significantly changes his outlook.
I expect Houston to struggle to move the ball on the ground. If that’s the case, CJ Stroud will lock in on his top wideout to move the chains. And without Surtain as his opposite number, Collins can get it done.
