The Commanders are 3-5 coming into their Week 9 matchup against the visiting Seattle Seahawks, and they’ve dropped three straight games coming into this primetime matchup. They’ll look to Jayden Daniels to get them back on the right track in his return, and one of his primary playmakers to work with will be veteran receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. Let’s take a look at my top player prop bets for Deebo this week on Sunday Night Football.
The Commanders will be sporting their throwbacks to their “Super Bowl Era,” when they went by another name, but the colors and overall look hit the mark pretty well.
In the bigger picture, the Commanders are three-point home underdogs on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total at an elevated 48.5. Below, I’ve detailed my favorite prop bets centered around Samuel.

Deebo Samuel Sr. under 60.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-113)
Samuel will be the top wide receiver for the Commanders once again this week, with Terry McLaurin (quad) out. McLaurin missed four games before returning and re-aggravating his injury last week against the Chiefs. He will not be ready to return for this matchup and could miss multiple games.
Even in his absence, though, Samuel hasn’t been able to put up huge games. Last week, he only had 12 rushing and receiving yards against the Chiefs after managing just 14 rushing and receiving yards in Week 6 against the Bears before leaving with a heel injury.
Before his injury and before Jayden Daniels (hamstring) injury, Samuel did go over this total in Week 1, Week 4, and Week 5, but he’s been well under this prop line in the other four games he has played since joining the Commanders this past offseason.
Not only has his recent form been uninspiring, but he’s also in a very tough matchup against Seattle’s secondary. The Seahawks have allowed an average of 139 receiving yards per week to the position, but they held Nico Collins to just 27 yards in Week 7 before their bye week. Emeka Egbuka got loose for a monster game against them, but they also held DK Metcalf and Chris Olave under 60 yards earlier this season, showing they have the ability to key in on a big-name receiver and limit his production.
The Seahawks are a little off the radar as an NFC contender, but they’ll try to take advantage of this primetime matchup to get a statement win over Deebo Samuel Sr. and the Commanders. Samuel definitely has the big-play ability to go over this total, but I think it’s much more likely that the Seahawks come out focused on containing their former division rival and are able to hold him under this total of rushing and receiving yards.
