Florida State Seminoles vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons prediction, pick for CFB Week 10 on Saturday 11/01/25

Doak will glow under Homecoming lights, and the place will buzz with the complicated energy of a program at a crossroads. Florida State walks out of a bye with four straight ACC losses in its lungs and urgency in its cadence. Wake Forest arrives with three straight wins and a defense that travels, carrying the quiet confidence of a team comfortable in one-score friction. The stands will tighten on third downs, bands will rattle aluminum, and every early red-zone snap will feel like leverage. November asks for resolve, and this night will answer with poise and field position. Below is my prediction for CFB Week 10’s Saturday night football game between the Florida State Seminoles and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Florida State vs. Wake Forest prediction, preview

Thomas Castellanos, quarterback, gives Florida State its rhythm when the structure holds and the verticals breathe. The season line remains real: 1,607 yards at 60.2% with nine touchdowns and five interceptions, plus 319 rushing yards and five on the ground. The offense has carried volume all fall, averaging 523.3 yards per game with a top-ten rushing profile at 254.3. On schedule, the Seminoles sustain; their third-down conversion sits at 52.6%, ninth nationally by the numbers in your sheet. That stat marries well with Homecoming nerves and a defense that has allowed only 22.6 points per game while keeping total yardage at 327.3. When that defense controls the run, it controls the clock; the front has allowed 3.2 yards per rush, a sturdy floor that complicates Wake’s identity.

Robby Ashford, quarterback, will test that floor with designed legs and improvisation. His line remains blunt but useful—58.6% for 1,205 yards with three touchdowns and four picks, plus 228 rushing yards and four scores. The real stress is Demond Claiborne, running back, at 612 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, and 6.7 per carry. Wake leans on claustrophobic tempo and Claiborne’s slashing pace to flatten games into two-minute chunks. Chris Barnes, wide receiver, brings 476 yards and three scores as the downfield pressure point, but Wake’s passing profile is economical, not explosive. That pairs with their defense: 18.9 points allowed per game, 311.4 yards per game against, and only 179.9 through the air. In other words, they prefer to shrink airspace and force patient, thirteen-play patience.

Duce Robinson, wide receiver, is the Seminole who tilts spacing. He leads the room with 541 receiving yards at 77.3 per game, while Micahi Danzy has added a vertical jolt at 436 and a conference-leading 22.9 yards per catch. Those two stretch safeties and manufacture free grass for Gavin Sawchuk, running back, who sits at 422 rushing yards and six scores at 4.9 per carry. The shape is clear: Florida State wants to hammer light boxes, then layer shots off play action when Wake cheats. Wake’s answer is Langston Hardy, defensive lineman, with six tackles for loss and four and a half sacks inside a front that wins with assignment honesty more than brute force. They have lived on late-down integrity and rally tackling; the unit’s identity is repeatable travel defense, not splash defense.

Wake Forest vs. Florida State pick, best bet

Wake has a five-two ATS mark and arrives with a defense that grades as top-twenty-five in points allowed and top-twenty-five in total yards allowed by your page. Florida State has two covers in six, an 0–4 league mark, and a month of galling, close-quarters failure. Wake squeezes red-zone outcomes, and Florida State has inflicted self-harm with penalties and sudden-change sloppiness. The pushback is numerical and local: Homecoming has been a fortress; the Seminoles hold eleven straight on this stage by your note. The offense owns available yards, quality drive share, and net success rate edges in your worksheet despite the slide. The front’s 3.2 per carry allowed meets Wake’s 149.4 rushing yards per game, and that is the fulcrum that breaks one-score gravity.

Wake’s underdog competence shows up in the ledger, yet eight of the last nine in this series have gone under by your trend sheet, and each of Wake’s last eight in Florida has landed under as well. Wake’s red-zone offense sits at 72% scoring with only nine touchdowns on twenty-five trips, a 36% pay-dirt rate that leaves points on the table. Florida State’s offense flashes headline yards and points, but in ACC play the output has dipped under twenty-three per game, and that tracks with the four-game drought. Both teams’ statistical gravity presses toward grind rather than a grindhouse.

Wake’s defense limits explosive air damage; Florida State’s run volume drains clock; both quarterbacks carry appetites for scramble over hero ball. The composite pushes me off the spread tax and straight into the total.

Projection: Florida State 26, Wake Forest 19.

Best bet: Florida State vs. Wake Forest u51.5 total points (-105)
