Georgia vs. Florida Player Props
Gunner Stockton Anytime TD (-110)
Gunner Stockton is rapidly improving as the quarterback of the Georgia Bulldogs. Stockton was unexpectedly ushered into the SEC Championship Game last season after Carson Beck got injured. Stockton led the Bulldogs to a conference title, then started in Georgia’s loss to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff. That gave Stockton some valuable starting experience before this really became his team. To start this season, Stockton looked like a solid game manager for Georgia, but he was not able to create many explosive plays in the passing game. However, in the past several weeks, Stockton has started to really develop as a playmaker.
Stockton is coming off one of the best games of his career. Against Ole Miss, he went 26-for-31 for 289 yards and four touchdowns through the air, with 59 yards and a touchdown on the ground, as well. Earlier in the season, defenses were anticipating Stockton to be involved in some kind of read option and that Georgia would try to score on the ground. However, since Stockton has developed as a passer, it has freed up rushing lanes for him because defenses can no longer just load the box. Stockton has four rushing touchdowns in his past three games and should find another one against Florida. The Gators have a good pass rush, and that could lead to Stockton taking off and finding the end zone with his legs to avoid the pressure.
DJ Lagway 241+ Passing Yards (-114)
DJ Lagway is coming off a much-needed bye week. Lagway missed most of summer practice with a lingering injury. As a developing young quarterback, that gave Lagway no real chance to connect with his receiving corps and develop as a passer. That was evident when Lagway really struggled early on in the season. However, after Florida’s first bye week of the season, they came out and beat Texas the next week, partially thanks to a great effort from Lagway. He has been much better since then, and should only improve more after another bye week to work on things.
Georgia has an elite run defense, but ranks 94th in defensive EPA/pass. If Florida wants to move the ball in this game, it should be through the air. Lagway has cleared this number in three straight games. After getting injured in this rivalry game last season, Lagway should be determined to prove himself with a big game against Georgia this season.
