Boise State Broncos vs. Fresno State Bulldogs prediction, pick for CFB Week 10 on Saturday 11/01/25

The blue turf will glisten like moon-blanched glass under dry November light, and the Milk Can will tingle with history. Boise State steps in with rhythm and bite, a balance that travels between power and pace without strain. Fresno State arrives wobbling, a new regime searching for timing after two bruising losses that bent both confidence and cadence. The rivalry still carries bite—Fresno has claimed the last two meetings—yet today’s temperature reads different, more methodical, more leverage-driven. The afternoon invites field-position pressure, red-zone discernment, and a home crowd ready to roar at the first body-blow drive.Below is my prediction for CFB Week 10’s Saturday night football game between the Boise State Broncos and the Fresno State Bulldogs.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Boise State vs. Fresno State prediction, preview

Boise State’s sheet marries volume with efficiency, then tilts time. The Broncos average 457.5 yards per game, split neatly into 260.6 through the air and 196.9 on the ground, and they score 35.3 points per game with a possession edge of 33:34. Maddux Madsen, quarterback, has thrown for 1,998 yards with 15 touchdowns against seven interceptions on 60.4% completions, and his operation breathes when play action unlocks intermediate shots. Dylan Riley, running back, sets the heartbeat with 729 rushing yards, seven touchdowns, and a blistering 7.4 yards per carry that punishes light boxes. The first quarter has become Boise’s launchpad, with 9.9 points per opening frame and a +7.5 average margin that forces opponents to chase. That early squeeze matters against a Fresno defense that has looked sturdy by yardage but has sagged in leverage moments.

Fresno’s defense concedes only 314.4 yards per game, with 182.1 against the pass and 132.3 on the ground, and those raw figures gleam. Yet the frontline frayed when stress spiked. Colorado State ran for 190, San Diego State stampeded for 208, and those totals were not cosmetic. Boise can stack that stress with duo, insert looks, and split-flow eye candy, then reshape the picture with RPO and condensed splits. The Broncos have also turned the ball with intent, sitting T-8 nationally with 11 interceptions and a +5 turnover margin. Fresno counters with 10 interceptions of its own, but the Bulldogs carry a -3 turnover margin and a red-zone offense that has scored on only 75.0% of trips, which ranks 120th. Those are the moments where possession football and turnovers compound, and Boise’s profile seeks exactly that compounding.

Fresno State’s offense has lost its compass across October. The Bulldogs average 25.6 points per game and 362.5 yards per game, but they’ve produced only 41 total points across the last three, with a 23-0 shutout against San Diego State as the nadir. E.J. Warner, quarterback, has delivered 1,486 passing yards on 68.8% completions with 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions, yet the midseason turnover skid dragged tempo and sequencing. Carson Conklin’s start brought 182 yards on 47.6% completions with two interceptions, which only deepened the drag. The backfield remains capable: Bryson Donelson sits at 411 rushing yards with three touchdowns, and Rayshon Luke has 402 rushing yards with five touchdowns at 6.4 yards per carry, while Josiah Freeman’s 27 catches for 326 yards and four touchdowns anchor the outside. The pieces can threaten space; the structure must stop spilling possessions.

Fresno State vs. Boise State pick, best bet

Fresno’s secondary protects the posts and seams, with the defense allowing only 182.1 passing yards per game and banking those 10 interceptions. Boise’s offense can drift into lulls—Nevada saw only 24 points—and the Broncos’ rush defense has yielded 152.8 yards per game, which hints at a lane for Donelson and Luke. Injuries have also nicked Boise’s receiver room at points, inviting questions about explosive air damage if Fresno squeezes first windows and rallies to tackle. Those are honest concerns in a rivalry that often flips on one sudden turnover or one misfit.

The refutation tightens once you stack leverage. Boise’s possession edge, plus that first-quarter surge, dictates script and forces Fresno’s quarterbacks to extend drives on third and long. The Bulldogs sit 131st in fourth-down conversion rate at 27.3% and have allowed 72.7% on fourth down, which ranks 130th, and that asymmetry tilts both field position and psyche. Boise’s defense just forced five takeaways against Nevada and has allowed 23.3 points per game while conceding only 184.5 passing yards per game. If the Broncos keep Fresno one-dimensional after early downs, the turnovers reappear and the red-zone stall rate reasserts itself. Donelson and Luke can flash juice, but that backfield needs sustained rhythm, not sporadic sparks, and Boise’s depth fronts have lately denied rhythm.

Market context supports the lean without becoming the story. The number sits Boise State −17.5 with a total of 50.5, and the Broncos have covered six of eight, standing 6-1-1 ATS. The home streak has grown to 15 straight wins, and their last three victories came by double digits. Fresno is 3-5 ATS and has dropped two straight, with October’s offensive slide undercutting otherwise clean yardage rankings. Trends say Boise has hit the over in five of the last seven, while seven of the last nine in this series have landed under; those cross-currents usually push me toward side, not total. The decisive edge still lives in possession, turnovers, and red-zone math.

Boise State −17.5, backed by possession dominance, turnover tilt, and red-zone advantage, remains the sharper angle than guessing whether Fresno’s offense finally reboots.

Final score: Boise State 34, Fresno State 13.

Best bet: Boise State -17.5 (-110) vs. Fresno State
