Things are already looking spooky for the Memphis Grizzlies. Following a three-game absence, superstar guard Luka Doncic looks poised to return to action tonight for the NBA Cup match. Doncic was sidelined briefly due to a finger sprain and lower leg contusion.
While he hasn’t officially been cleared, his status started out as Questionable this morning before recently getting upgraded to Probable. It’s unclear whether Doncic will see any minutes restrictions, but he participated in shootaround this morning prior to getting upgraded.
Fellow back court mate Austin Reaves has been holding it down in Doncic’s absence, averaging a stellar 40 PPG en route to two wins and a loss. In a small five game sample, Reaves’ usage sans-Doncic jumps to a hearty 35.7%. His usage with Doncic in the lineup was 27%. Doncic’s return will also take some minutes away from Jake LaRavia, Dalton Knecht, and Jarred Vanderbilt.
