Breeders’ Cup
Championship action starts Friday, October 31, with the Future Stars Card at Del Mar where the Turf Meets the Surf. Five races for the top 2-year-olds from around the world will crown champions in the Juvenile Divisions.
THE BREEDERS’ CUP JUVENILE TURF SPRINT (Race 6)
This race joined the Breeders’ Cup World Championships lineup in 2018 at Churchill Downs and has quickly become a fan betting favorite. The 5-furlong race on grass, which is open to male and female two-year-olds, carries a $1 million purse and has 12 starters with a few waiting in the Also Eligibles.

THE BREEDERS’ CUP JUVENILE FILLIES (Race 7)
The $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, restricted to two-year-old females, is run at 1 1/16 miles. Like its counterpart in the Juvenile, this is the world’s best test of two-year-old fillies and looks to name the Champion of all two-year-old female horses in the world.

THE BREEDERS’ CUP JUVENILE (Race 9)
At $2 million, the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile is one of the richest two-year-old races in North America. This 1 1/16-mile race is often cited as the early start to the following year’s Derby and Triple Crown trail. The winner of the Juvenile is likely to open as the favorite for the Kentucky Derby, which is six months down the road.
