Auston Matthews to Score a Goal (+115)
It’s been a slow start to the new season for Matthews, but he is still tied for the most goals on the team (5) and leads in both shots on goal per 60 and shot attempts per 60. Tonight, he will face Elvis Merzlikins, who has been solid with a 3-1-0 record to go along with a 2.96 GAA and .915 SV%. However, Merzlikins has struggled against Matthews and the Maple Leafs in the past. Across six career games against Merzlikins, Matthews has totaled eight goals and five assists. Overall, the 28-year-old has netted eight goals in the past seven meetings against the Blue Jackets.
William Nylander to Record 1+ Assist (-120)
If Matthews does indeed net a goal, chances are that Nylander will be involved. While he has been dealing with a lower-body injury, the Canadian hasn’t missed a step and ranks third in the NHL in assists (12) and first in primary assists (10). Nylander ranks third in assists per 60 and has recorded at least one assist in seven of nine games so far in 2025. Like Matthews, he has found success against Merzlikins in the past, posting six goals and five assists in seven career meetings.
Sean Monahan to Record 3+ Shots on Goal (+155)
The 31-year-old leads all Blue Jackets’ forwards in ice time per game, and has cleared this line in two of the past three games. Monahan ranks fifth on the team in shots on goal per 60, with that ranking increasing to third when playing at even strength. The Maple Leafs rank 15th in shots allowed per game but 10th against opposing centers. The Blue Jackets rank second in shots per game and 11th in Corsi%, and I don’t expect that trend to stop against a Maple Leafs’ squad that is struggling both defensively and between the pipes. Additionally, he has cleared 3+ SOG in his past three meetings against Toronto.
