The Commanders host the Seahawks this coming Sunday night. While Jayden Daniels (hamstring) is expected to practice fully this week and is trending towards returning from his one-game absence, wideout Terry McLaurin has already been ruled out after reinjuring his quad this past Monday vs. the Chiefs.
Daniels returning is big news for the Commanders’ offense, but McLaurin missing his fifth game of the season is obviously very discouraging. One would think Luke McCaffrey would see a big boost in usage with McLaurin absent, but that hasn’t exactly been the case.
McCaffrey has played three games with Daniels active and McLaurin inactive this season. In these contests, McCaffrey ran a route on just 45% of his team’s dropbacks and he only saw a target on 10% of his routes. McCaffrey did find the end zone once in these three games, but he also had a zero-catch performance in another. Overall, McCaffrey is only averaging 5.3 FPTS per game in this situation.
Going against a Seahawks team on Sunday that is coming off their bye week and is giving up the fourth-fewest yards per pass this season (5.8), McCaffrey should have a quiet outing regardless of McLaurin’s absence. He is a very shaky fantasy option that has no floor.
Even with Daniels expected to make his return, Washington is a three-point home underdog to the Seattle on DraftKings Sportsbook.
