Josh Hart U 9.5 Points (-120)
Hart is dealing with a back injury to start this season and he is handling a much smaller role as a reserve, logging just 24.0 minutes per game off the bench and handling a modest 16% usage rate. Hart has only scored two and six points in his first two games, and he is shooting an abysmal 23% from the field.
While Hart could see more work tonight with it being his third game back, he should continue to come off the bench and shouldn’t exceed the 30-minute mark. Plus, the Bucks rank 11th in defensive rating, so this isn’t an ideal matchup. The 9.5-point line is way too high for Hart in this spot and he is an easy choice for this under.
Karl-Anthony Towns U 2.5 Assists (-121)
While Towns has done his usual damage as a scorer and on the glass, the big man hasn’t contributed much as a playmaker this season. Towns is only averaging 2.3 assists per game through his first three starts and he has only exceeded 2.5 assists once in these three games. Towns is averaging a very low 2.7 potential assists per game, meaning he is rarely passing to his teammates when they are in an optimal position to score.
Based on his lack of potential assists, Towns is lucky to be averaging 2.3 assists per game this season and he is a great bet to fall short of 2.5 assists in this matchup vs. the Bucks.
Gary Trent Jr. O 2.5 Made Three-Pointers (-119)
Trent Jr. is starting for the Bucks this season and his main job is to hoist up threes for Milwaukee’s first unit while Giannis Antetokounmpo attracts most of the defense’s attention in the paint. In 27.4 minutes per game, Trent Jr. is knocking down 3.3 three-pointers on 9.7 attempts per game, with that latter number ranking ninth in the NBA.
Trent Jr. is accounting for 39.7% of the Bucks’ three-point attempts this season and with this immense volume, the long-range specialist could easily exceed 2.5 made three-pointers vs. the Knicks, who are susceptible to outside shooters, as they prioritize protecting the paint. While New York is giving up the fewest points in the paint per game this season (38.0), it is allowing the third-most made three-pointers per game in the league (15.7).
