After an epic 18-inning classic Game 3 that saw the Dodgers defeat the Blue Jays thanks to a Freddie Freeman walk-off home run, there will no rest for the weary as these teams turn right around and take the diamond again tonight. Ahead 2-1 in the series, the Dodgers will look to capitalize with Shohei Ohtani on the mound in Game 4’s pitching matchup:

MLB Odds & Storylines
The Dodgers are a -207 favorite on the Moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the run total set at 8. Meanwhile, according to the DraftKings Network Betting Splits page, 57% of the handle and 65% of bets are backing Los Angeles. At the same time, 85% of the handle and 74% of bets are on the over on the run total. The Dodgers and Jays used a combined 19 pitchers in Monday’s 18-inning affair, so it’s fair to say both bullpens are fried.
Luckily for the Dodgers, they’re handing the ball to the other-worldly Shohei Ohtani. The superstar is 2-0 this posteason with a 2.25 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched. So it should be no shock that Garion Thorne is backing Ohtani in multiple ways in his Best Prop Bets article, highlighting Ohtani to Record a Win (+116) and Ohtani 7+ Strikeouts (-111). Garion points out that Ohtani is striking out 42.2% of the batters he’s faced with a 1.22 FIP in the postseason. He’ll have to be at his best, however, as the Jays tend to put the ball in play, posting the league’s lowest strikeout rate during the regular season. However, Garion calls back to Ohtani’s performance against the Brewers in Game 4 of the NLCS, where he struck out 10 batters in a lineup that profiles similarly to Toronto. Garion argues that given how cooked the bullpens are, it’s reasonable to assume that Dave Roberts will squeeze as much as he can out of his sensational superstar.
On the Toronto side, the bad news is George Springer’s status is still a question mark after he left Game 3 in the 7th inning with a “side” injury. However, the good news is that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has recorded at least one single in each of the Blue Jays’ last 10 games as road underdogs (Guerrero 1+ Alt Singles -104). The Blue Jays have also covered the run line in seven of their last eight games following an extra innings loss (Blue Jays +1.5 run line -117) and Toronto hitters are 19-for-67 (.284) lifetime vs Ohtani.
